The citrus punch of a big IPA, minus the one-dimensional hop sledgehammer. Seven select European and domestic malts round out the edges for a complex, copper-colored brew. Like its namesake ski lift, itís an insiderís ride to fresh thrills.

On tap from the brewer, this pours a nice amber into the glass, with a super eggshell head that leaves nice lacing. The nose is of caramel, citrus and farmhouse notes. Flavors of caramel, candied orange, stone fruits and nice bitter hopping accompany a light peppering alcohol finish. Medium-bodied and oily on the palate, this is a wonderful brew.

Bottle to pint glass. Best by 5/15. P is super clear amber with decent white head. Aroma is cut grass, citrus, and malt. Taste is the same. Finish is dry and balanced. Good stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours reddish golden with a rocky white head. Aromas of sweet malt, citrus and pine. Flavors are citrus and cut grass. Finishes with lemon peel and pine needles. Clean mouthfeel with a fairly dry finish, but a lingering hop bite. Thereís an upfront sweetness that is quickly swamped by a tangy hoppiness. This is really good.

Not getting the "citrus punch," as advertised, but @ $4.99/ 6 pack, really wasnít expecting a knockout blow. Plenty of juicy malt and hop flavors. A little rotten fruit/mineral note in the finish. Not bad.

355ml bottle. Pours a handsome, slightly hazy, copper amber, with a medium off-white head, which lasts well and leaves good lacing. Floral, mandarin, kiwifruit and lemon hops notes sit over a caramel malt base to create an alluring aroma. Orange and lemon hops up front gain a softer floral character leading into the mid-palate, where they are joined by full-bodied caramel and toffee malt. Kiwifruit and lemon hops give it a refreshing finish. This is a very high-quality APA. Itís hops flavours are very pleasant, and balanced with just enough malt body. A perfect example of well-balanced brewing.

Iíve had several tasting of this brew prior to reviewing. Iíve poured it in several different glasses and really enjoyed it most from my nonic pint. My overall impressions are that this is a beautiful pale ale in the English pub bitter/ale tradition with a unique and tasty American hop profile. In the aroma the sweet caramel and cereal like malt notes are in the fore, followed quickly by the citrus, tangerine and stone fruit like hops. Pours perfectly in the nonic pint with a light tan three finger head with small tight bubbles and just a bit of fluffiness. The taste is pitch perfect. The hops give you both a crisp and lingering bitterness with nice citrus, gentle pine and lemongrass. Very forward but never overpowering. The malts are sweet caramel and toffee, balanced and with a nice grain backbone. The palate is simply spot on and delightful for the style. Red Chair is both sessionable and well worth savoring. Red Chair isnít going to set the world on fire, but it is just so damn good. An easy drinker that defines the style and is always a welcome quaff at a very nice price. About $14.00 a 12 pack. Bound to be a crowd pleaser and very fridge worthy. Cheers
