COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The citrus punch of a big IPA, minus the one-dimensional hop sledgehammer. Seven select European and domestic malts round out the edges for a complex, copper-colored brew. Like its namesake ski lift, itís an insiderís ride to fresh thrills.

well crafted and not over hopped. Smooth on the paler and well deserved of a 4. Paring with a good seafood gumbo today

Smooth taste and malts with a citrus kick to finish. Nice aroma and appearance for a Pale Ale Fredo

Hazy orange with high carbonation and a thin soapy head and good lacing. Aroma of citrus hops, caramel & pale malts, floral hops and yeasts. Flavor of citrus hops, toffee, yeasts, pale malts and a bittersweet citra-hop aftertaste. Heavy body and moderate carbonation. Very good!

Draft: Honey gold with a short beige head. Orange, floral scent. Toffee malt, raw vanilla, citrus taste. Really nicely done bittering.

Poured from a nitro tap, stronger hop aroma than I remembered. Cascades nicely with a thick creamy lacing. extremely easy drinking and has a much better flavor than when poured from a bottle

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2014 Malty nose with a hint of citrus and apple. Reddish amber, not really a pale ale. Nicely balanced bitterness and sweetness. Good mouth feel, bitter finish. Very pleasant and easy drinking. The only fault was a slight harshness to the bitter finish. Other than that it was much in the spirit of a good English best bitter.

Bottle. This has seven malts? Slightly cloudy a-a-amber, white head. OK boring appearance part out of the way, now for the good stuff. Nose is candied orange peel (mm), good quality grape punch (one of my favourite hop characteristics). Flavour is same with a bit of dry hop grassiness, slight toast, not ruined by caramel malt. The way an APA should be... just looked up their Mirror Pond and they call it the "quintessential pale ale" but this fits that description much better for me. Love those grape hop flavours.

On tap. Pours a red/orange with little head. Aromas of oranges and toasted malts. Flavors of bitter grapefruit, strong pine, some candy and resin. Didnít get the malts.. Off balance.

Draught pint at Redbones on 3/14/14
Clear golden-amber pour with a fluffy white head that is well-retained.
Acidic, piney hops in the nose contribute some dry fruitiness, more pine sap and mild citric notes. Some maltiness, though itís somewhat bready/biscuity and dosent really help with the already overly dry, acidic hop notes. Clean, otherwise, at least. Iíve had some real aspirin bombs from Deschutes and this isnt one of them.
Plentiful bitterness easily overwhelms the palate. Citrus, pine, red fruits and some dry, biscuity, rather grainy malts. Light sweetness adds a touch of balance and Iíve certainly had more out-of-balance hop bombs, but Iím going to have to go ahead and disagree with their commercial description. Seems exactly like a one-dimensional hop sledgehammer. Moderate carbonation, decent enough mouthfeel. I guess itís still aimed at the person who just likes a mouthful of hop bitterness....Yawn.

Pours a dark reddish orange with a light tan head. Nice pine on the nose, lots of bright fruits and citrus, biscuity malt and a little sweetness. Really nice amount of malt on the taste, rounded out by nice floral and citrus hops and a hint of caramel. Really well made, malt forward pale ale;
