COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The citrus punch of a big IPA, minus the one-dimensional hop sledgehammer. Seven select European and domestic malts round out the edges for a complex, copper-colored brew. Like its namesake ski lift, it’s an insider’s ride to fresh thrills.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tulip. My pour is very slightly hazy, with a full amber color in the middle of the glass and a lighter caramel color around the edges. The aroma has a fairly mild and subtle character to it. Bready malt sets the base, with some light caramel notes. With a swirl of the glass, a dash of honey and floral hops come into my nose as well. Each sip starts off with a bit of honey sweetness and a touch of lavender. The pale malt is the dominant flavor, providing a smooth, bready character. A slight citrus hoppiness that tastes mostly of grapefruit brings a bitterness that feels quite natural toward the finish. Red Chair has a smooth body, with the flavors combining nicely into a mellow flavor overall. There is a slightly grainy, unfiltered feel to the beer, which I like. The carbonation is smooth and creamy, which adds to the mouthfeel as well. A little bit of hop residue lingers after each sip. Overall I found this to be a smooth, enjoyable drinking brew; one that I could enjoy without worrying about any noticeable defects. On the other hand, the lack of a big hop presence or intense flavors leaves it behind some of my favorite pale ales.

Pours a clear medium amber with head that fades low but leaves great lacing. Aroma is citrus and pine hops with a great balance of bready caramel malts. Taste is sweet malts, then just a hint of resin as the hops make themselves known. The malts are never overpowered, and at best the hops make it 50/50. Everything melds into a well-blended aftertaste. Palate is medium-bodied and well carbonated. This is a very drinkable and enjoyable brew.

Copper pour with white head. Aroma is sweet caramel, with fruity and floral hops. Medium bodied. Well balanced between sweet malts and sprucey, floral hops. Super fresh and great for the style.

Wonderful fruit aroma and taste that combines with the sweet malt in this amber pale ale. It goes well with the mild hops that combine into this wonderful seasonal. I could just sit and drink this all day.

Bottle. Pours a red copper with soapy beige head and sea foam lace. Nose of sweet caramel, citrus, some pine. Mild hop bitterness, sweet malts up front with a lightly bitter hop finish. Good beer, very malty for a pale ale. More like a hoppy red ale but good none the less.

Sweet aroma with a peach or hibiscus hint. Golden red color. White head that quickly vanished. Tastes very floral and kinda piney with a bitter after taste. Tangy a bit too. Deschutes kills it.

On nitro this beer was awesome. It has some spicy and hoppy aromas like an IPA. The body was smooth, thick and creamy. The taste was more malty than the nose suggested but overall still very balanced.
