COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The citrus punch of a big IPA, minus the one-dimensional hop sledgehammer. Seven select European and domestic malts round out the edges for a complex, copper-colored brew. Like its namesake ski lift, it’s an insider’s ride to fresh thrills.

Gorgeous slightly hazy orange copper pour. Plenty of depth with a light off white head. Good lacing. Very hoppy, nwpa, aroma. Grapefruit, citrus, pine. Caramel aromas can still come through. Flavor is disappointing. Falls short for what aroma and appearance set up. Malt flavor was a tad chalky. Hop flavors did not shine anywhere near to how the aroma did. I feel the shortfall is in the yeast. Out of place estery character is throwing me off. ---Rated via iPhone

On tap at Stanford’s in Hillsboro, OR. Aroma: malty and piney, with hints of caramel and biscuit. Taste/Palate: starts sweet and creamy; finishes crisp and bitter.

Dark to medium copper color with a small off-white head. Aromas of pine ans spruce with a nice malt balance. Full body; long finish, mostly bitter but some malt also. Overall a very nicely balanced IPA.

Pours a clear rich red gold. Big bubble lacing. Aroma is lightly citrus and vanilla. Taste starts malty and eases into more dry hop place. The malt components are both complex and subdued. Nice bright supple mouth feel. Particularly nice finish of well balanced refreshing malt/hop.

2/12/15 - Finley Dunnes (Chicago) Draft - Decent offering - liked the citrus smell and taste. Hops were light, the texture was very light. Nice beer to complement a meal, but less strong in taste and strength than I typically look for in an pale ale. Good beer.

This poured a red color with an off white head. Aroma was of floral and citrusy hops and toasted.malt. Flavor similar, very well rounded and classics red.ipa.

Pour from a 12oz bottle. Browning amber brew with two finger of off white head. Nice aroma of tropical fruit, citrus, a littler resin. Taste is light malt and hops up front - a bitter back bone / resin - transitioning to a more crisp citrus hoppiness in the last half of the swallow. Finish is a little sweet and with a retreating hops presence ending with a final flourish of tropical fruit. A solid APA, verges towards an IPA in character. Glad to have Deschutes in Michigan!

Bottle from Systembolaget. Amber to copper colour. A quite small, white head. Resin, malt, caramel, some alcohol nose. Medium thickness and oily mouth feel. Medium carbonation. Refreshing. Pine, some grapefruit, honey, citrus and lemon flavour. Probably a bit old. The swedish importer covers up the best before date (in this case 06/28/14) with a new one (in this case march 2015), stating that the original best before should be understood as a "freshest before date". Stupid idea in my opinion. I would rather drink this type of beer fresh than having an old bottle which is useful only for ticking... This was a good beer in it’s prime though, that’s for sure!

Very respectable pale ale. Has a nice bright hop profile without being a one note pony. Also has a lot of malt flavours and some mild grassiness. Pretty good.

Poured from a bottle. Copper color. Creamy, off-white head. Thick lacing. Very faint aroma. Smooth up front and finishes with some citrus hop bitterness. Average beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours clear reddish amber with small pale tan head that fades to a ring of sticky lacing and a few bubbles. Nice. Aroma is toasted grains, sticky caramel, red licorice, grapefruit peel, flowers, pine. Taste is orange, persimmon, cola, caramel, lime peel, preserved lemon, wood, pine. Surprisingly full mouthfeel with fairly low carbonation. Too malty for me but still clean and drinkable.
