The citrus punch of a big IPA, minus the one-dimensional hop sledgehammer. Seven select European and domestic malts round out the edges for a complex, copper-colored brew. Like its namesake ski lift, it’s an insider’s ride to fresh thrills.

Bottle purchased in a small store near Lake Tahoe, very interesting beer, full a flavour and lovely red colour. My first NWPA and hopefully not my last.

BOTTLE. (BO.08Jan16) Dark gold in colour with thick yet small off white head.. Sweet malt with some floral musky notes on the nose.. Nice sharp sweet malts roll into a medium hop bitterness, finishing with a good balance of the citrus hops & sappy malt.. Sourced Cellarbrations @ Capel

On tap at Tony Roma’s, Mall of America. Fruity and oniony hops aroma with stone fruit and faint strawberry. Almost clear copper under a thin, white cover and lace. Flavour is salty hops with onions, bitter resin, and apricot in front of sweet base malt. Very high bitterness lingers through the finish and is slightly astringent. Medium body, medium carbonation, smooth.

12-ounce bottles poured into a large dimpled mug. Tasty, not too bitter, the best pale ale that I have had (although the color was a bit dark for the type).

Really hard to rate, as ths was on Nitro. If I had known that I probably wouldn’t have ordered it as it was just dominated by the nitro and I got very little aroma or flavor out of it. Certainly not hoppy. May have to give this a try in the bottle.

12 ounce bottle. Amber orange pour. Large creamy beige head with noticeable lacing. Rich malty aroma has earthy caramel notes. Flavor has notes of caramel malt and citrus hops. A wonderful balance of malt and hops. Sweet and spicy. Peppery hops finish this nicely.

Clear tea-coloured pour with small white smooth head and legs. Smells of maple syrup malt, hop that's grassy and lightly floral (dank flower petals), resin. Taste is moderate bitterness, crisp lightly spicy red malt. Body is slick and bitter. Quite nice - a good deal hoppier than most pale ales, and the maltiness adds a lightly sweet crispness.
