COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The citrus punch of a big IPA, minus the one-dimensional hop sledgehammer. Seven select European and domestic malts round out the edges for a complex, copper-colored brew. Like its namesake ski lift, itís an insiderís ride to fresh thrills.

Smell is grass, pine, toasted bread. Rather light body and low carbonation, but together with the the mild flavor this brew is somehow surprisingly pleasant.

Bottle. Reddish copper, lots of creamy foam. Grass, light grain and hop notes, wish the aroma came through more strongly. Flavor calls to the same, bit of toasted bread, lightly bitter. Well balanced, sessionable.

Rich, creamy, malty and smooth. Sweet-tart citrus with some bitter to balance and a hint of nuttiness. Adds a variety of notes to a pale ale while still keeping the traditional flavors. Overall very flavorful and very good.

On tap at revo. Nitro pour. Cool combo of good beer and the mystery addition of a nitro feed. Easy 5 on feel. The taste is exactly what it should be but itís just fascinating behind the nitro infusion. Mellow overall. Caramel, toasted malts, pine, lemon, rrfg, hint of something tropical. I guess this is how you spruce up an average beer.

(Bottle) Wow! I wasnít expecting much and this took me by surprise. I nice clean sweetness, some interesting character, and a slight bitterness. Fairly bold- this beer is pretty confident about itself and rightly so. Would definitely get again.

Luvystypotables (943) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - APR 13, 2015
Subdued aroma of malt and hops with a hint of citrus. Pours a great looking caramel color with a well laced white head. Balanced taste of hops and malts, full bodied with a mildly bitter finish.

deep amber color; floral hops and caramel malt aroma; bitter, floral, piney hops on a medium bodied caramel malt base; bitter finish

Deschutes gets the balance right in this pale ale: it has some of the heft of an IPA but isnít trying to win the hops arms race. Iíd drink this all year round if they sold it all year round. Unfortunately, itís a winter seasonal release.

On tap. Pours with a slight haze coppery colour. Hppy citrus notes are met with matly backbone but this is rather light in aroma. Same sort of medium to light body on the palate but rather sweeter than expected has a real candy cane flavour to it. Interesting but far from their best brew.

Clear orange pour. Smells light yeast and fruits. Taste light yeast and citrus fruits. Good overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(Bottle) Amber colour with frothy, beige head, leaving traces of lacing. Malty, fruity nose with treacle toffee, orange peel, marmalade, caramel, apricots and a touch of grapefruit. Malty, fruity taste with notes of orange peel, grapefruit, caramel, treacle toffee, passion-fruit, apricots and a balanced citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of caramel sweetness. Well balanced, fresh and tasty pale ale. Nice one.
