2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
My first andevture in the Deschutes Brewery line and was really disappointed. I am on the opposite end of the spectrum of most raters as I found this brew too citrusy and bitter.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Rating the Winter 2013 edition.
I have had Zombie Dust and this tastes a lot like Zombie Dust, only so much better.
Appearance: A ruby grapefruit red. Nice thick head that retains throughout the entire enjoyment of the beer (leaving nice lacing down the glass).
Smell: Pine, grapefruit, mango. Very tropical and sweet.
Taste: Wow! Very malty and sweet, but very hoppy. Think floral then pine. Amazing balance to this beer.
I have had most of the top rated pale ales and this is by far the best, yes, even better than Zombie.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle and on tap 10 East -
Aroma - sweet peachy aroma, caramel and citrus hanging around, but the peach (maybe mango) is dominant
Appearance - clear amber body, generous 3-finger white head, light retention, light lacing
Mouthfeel - medium body, medium carbonation, semi-prickly
Flavor - caramel malts, piney hop punch, medium sweetness, very well balanced
Overall - creeping into IPA territory, I’m betting blind this might fool a few people. Satisfying.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
"different than Red chair IPA or in my head...i dunno, but this one seems a little tamer and a little maltier, while still being very good fresh. oh well, this score is for the 12 ouncers i’ve had recently...ever so slightly lower than the 22’s from last year."

Bottle at Claim Company at Northbrook Court. Reddish orange pour, malty smell. Light fruit. Taste follows, but with a sour fruit (almost Am Strong-ish) component. 13.2

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap from the brewer, this pours a nice amber into the glass, with a super eggshell head that leaves nice lacing. The nose is of caramel, citrus and farmhouse notes. Flavors of caramel, candied orange, stone fruits and nice bitter hopping accompany a light peppering alcohol finish. Medium-bodied and oily on the palate, this is a wonderful brew.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle to pint glass. Best by 5/15. P is super clear amber with decent white head. Aroma is cut grass, citrus, and malt. Taste is the same. Finish is dry and balanced. Good stuff.
