Auburn orange with big head and good lacing. Aroma of bread, caramel and some fruit with a bit of pine. Taste of sweet caramel and bread with a slight, somewhat herbal bitterness and hint of spice. Mouthfeel borders on being creamy with a medium body and carbonation. Has a nice malt forward presence with a piney/herbal character that helps to keep it from being too sweet. Drinkable.

Bottle pour - slightly reddish copper hue - modest white head with ample lacing. Aroma is piney hop forward, with citrus hops lingering in the background...plus a pretty decent yeasty malt feel - intriguing. Flavor is more malty than anticipated - the piney hop expectation is definitely present, but the bready malt backbone keeps things in line quite nicely - not the hop bomb I was anticipating by default. Palate is medium bodied - ample carbonation...easy drinking...admittedly a bit high ABV for such purposes, but this one is quite sessionable - solid overall!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Large, thick, foamy beige head with a lighter amber/dark copper body. Darker than a usual pale ale. Citrus aroma - a bit of malt, grassiness, and floral elements. Taste is citrusy with a bitter feel mixed with a solid malt backing. Citrus upfront, followed by sweetness, and a bit of toasted malt feeling at the end. There is no lingering hop bitterness at the end. Low carbonation and a somewhat creamy smooth mouth feel. I think this is what they mean by a clean finish.
I quite enjoy this one.

On tap at Tony Roma’s, Mall of America. Fruity and oniony hops aroma with stone fruit and faint strawberry. Almost clear copper under a thin, white cover and lace. Flavour is salty hops with onions, bitter resin, and apricot in front of sweet base malt. Very high bitterness lingers through the finish and is slightly astringent. Medium body, medium carbonation, smooth.
