COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The citrus punch of a big IPA, minus the one-dimensional hop sledgehammer. Seven select European and domestic malts round out the edges for a complex, copper-colored brew. Like its namesake ski lift, it’s an insider’s ride to fresh thrills.

As with anything Deschutes touches, it’s brilliant. Classic IPA qualities, hearty citrus, complex, and full. Beautiful! Not quite as good as Bells IPA... just saying.

(Bottle) Amber colour with frothy, beige head, leaving traces of lacing. Malty, fruity nose with treacle toffee, orange peel, marmalade, caramel, apricots and a touch of grapefruit. Malty, fruity taste with notes of orange peel, grapefruit, caramel, treacle toffee, passion-fruit, apricots and a balanced citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of caramel sweetness. Well balanced, fresh and tasty pale ale. Nice one.

Nice American hop aroma. Golden red ale, with a nice fruity / malty balance. Really disappointed that they only bring this one out seasonally. One of my favorites from Deschutes.

Translucent golden red. Meager head. Satisfying, but relatively mild aroma containing notes of malt, caramel, citrus, and hops. Mid bodied. Wonderful taste characteristics beginning with a smooth combination of malt and caramel, then finishing with these underlying flavours supplemented with citrus and hops. Quite hoppy, yet as the description suggests, toned down with a fair amount of malt. Nice.

Poured from the tap. Clear orangey brown with off white head. Grapefruit and pine hops with mild toffee malt. Medium body.

Decent American pale ale. Get the caramel and some of that red amber lager flavors. Almost a cross style between the styles.

Light amber with a frothy white head that slowly diffuses out of the beer. Aroma of pine. Taste is bitter pine with a lemon finish and bitter overall taste and a creamy texture. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Good and balanced. Has a nice hop flavor which isn’t overpowering. Looked really good in the glass.

12 oz bottle, pours a nice orange with an off white head. Aroma of citrus! pine and some malt. Taste wise, this is pretty well balanced, subdued hop flavor and some lightly toasted malts. Medium bodied, creamy, the the carbonation seems a bit soft for an IPA. Overall, IMHO, this is a very tasty brew. It goes on the "Have another" list!

[2/27/15] Draught at Deschutes Brewery & Public House in Portland. Clear amber. Piney and citric hops aroma with some toasty malt. Flavor has some sweetish malt, a bit toasty, and nice bitter piney and citric hops. Medium-bodied.
