COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The citrus punch of a big IPA, minus the one-dimensional hop sledgehammer. Seven select European and domestic malts round out the edges for a complex, copper-colored brew. Like its namesake ski lift, it’s an insider’s ride to fresh thrills.

Draft at Jerry’s. Copper with big, frothy, beige head / Muted nose of pine, citrus, and spun sugar / Medium body, a touch watery, hint of sweetness but mostly dry, lightly astringent, with good balance and bitter finish / Flavors of Fruit Pebbles, spun sugar, pine, and soap / Pleasant, and nicely balanced, if a bit peculiar and weak.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear dark amber color with a 1/2" white head that settles quickly to a film. Nice aroma of a combination of primarily of citrus with some pine notes. Great balance of malt and hops, can’t taste a flaw here. Finish is sweet with some hops in the background. Great beer! Would love to get this one again!

Bottle at CBC Denver, April 10 2014.
Clear golden color, teal head. Sweet, fruity, estery scent. Malty, bitter, grainy taste. Bitter aftertaste. Medium to fizzy mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.

Hard to find a good example of IPA in the Northwest, but this is one, even with the label "Pale Ale". Strong lemon aroma at opening. Thick head that lingers a while. Nice orange tint from the malt. Strong hop flavor, that doesn't linger. I prefer an easygoing pale ale, but I'd recommend this to any hop head.

12 oz bottle. Pours amber with a bit of and orange hue. One finger off white, almost tan head that leaves a lot of sticky lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, orange, pine, wheat, white bread. Taste is an excellent balance of earthy hop, malt and grain. Getting pine, bready malt, wheat, cereal grains, caramel and grapefruit. Nothing overbearing, just several different tastes all working together in harmony. Crisp and refreshing. Dry, average length finish of caramel, bready malts and earthy hops. Medium bodied, slick texture, a little higher than average carbonation. An excellent APA here. Like an amber ale, an IPA, and a pale ale all in one. Very well done!

The Red Chair is an insanely great APA! The beer pours a bright copper color with an ample off-white head. The head leaves a beautiful, sticky lacing around the glass. The nose is well-balanced, with plenty of bold and spicy hops, but also a fair amount of malt. I smelled some subtle hints of bread, yeast, grass, hay, caramel, wheat and toffee. The flavors are extremely well-balanced, also. There’s a ton of fruity and spicy hops up front, and the bready and sweet malts take over toward the finish. The beer finishes balanced, hoppy, bitter, sweet, bready and delicious.

2014 bottle to a tulip glass. Pours a hazy auburn color with a foamy off-white head with sticky lacing. Aroma is light and smooth. Lemon-lime on top of caramel, bready malt. As advertised, the malt is the main player in the taste. Butterscotch, caramel and a little graininess blankets the tongue with a nice lemon-lime hop bitterness at the end. Medium-full mouthfeel with a little astringent burn. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle from Wilbur’s. Appearance: finger of white head that dissipates quickly, amber-gold color, clear, great lacing. Aroma: floral hops, caramel, sweet pine sap. Palate: light-medium, average carbonation, bitter finish, sticky and slightly dry texture. Taste: sweet start with an almost seemless transition into medium light bitter hoppiness. The balance on this is amazing! Very well done beer.

Pours iced tea kinda color , half finger head. Nose is very earthy, not very aromatic. Taste is like a hoppy red ale. Some citrus, earthy malts, some hop flavor, moderate bitterness on the finish. Don't care for this one b ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

well crafted and not over hopped. Smooth on the paler and well deserved of a 4. Paring with a good seafood gumbo today
