On tap @ Bend, brewpub. I wasn’t going to rate this because it was so bad, but decided to warn people. Way over spiced, band-aid and a foul yeast character made this pretty much undrinkable. How could a place like this serve something this bad? Yuk!

Draught at the Bend brewpub. A big surprise coming from these guys. I don’t even know If I’ve had a Belgian style beer from them before, and this was quite good. Poured a lightly hazy gold with a lasting, creamy white head. Big tropical fruit notes in the aroma with pineapple, guava, passion, and some lavender and chamomile as well. Lots of fruit juice flavors and some light pale malt, accented by some soft herb flavors. The finish is tangy and dry. Light bodied and clean on the palate with higher carbonation. Really nice bright fruity notes, and very well attenuated.

5 ounce sample on tap at the Pub in Portland, OR. Scant spiciness in the nose with some doughiness and faint esters. The aroma is rather tame. Slightly hazy golden body with a creamy white head. Fruity estery start with some metallic hints in the middle. Tame banana-yeast esters later on. Light and watery, lacking body and complexity. Not really any horseblanket or any other significant saison flavors.

Fruity Belgian yeast aroma, cereals, honey, and something not right. Strange medicinal flavor. This misses the mark by a lot. Don’t know what they’re getting at.
