The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of chocolate, and lesser notes of bourbon. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of chocolate, medium notes of caramel, and light notes of bourbon, leading to a bitter finish. Papsoe (9242), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 9, 2007 (Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of moejuck. Pours completely black and opaque with a creamy, light brown head. Hard roasted malt aroma. Medium-bodied with very burned, coffeeish malt accents and a distinct malt astringent bitter finish. Very solid. 070907 Oakes (6529), Miami Beach, Canada Feb 11, 2007 Draught, Archer Ale House
This is pretty fucking black, with a medium brown head. The aroma shows milk chocolate, pecans, wood, alcohol and a touch of ill-fitting whisky. Full body. Creamy, milk chocolatey. Light woody hop notes and standard impy roast. Clean, full-flavoured and very typical PNW hoppy impy type. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing to seperate it from the pack either. sk8viking (5995), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 11, 2007 Bottle. A black beer with a big beige head. The aroma is of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and rye bread, so is the taste. Medium body with a dry light alcoholic finish. argo0 (5860), Washington DC, USA Jan 21, 2007 (22oz bottle, thanks kmweaver) Small brown head, brown-black body.
