Bottle. Buttery aroma with lots of yeast character. Pepper, clove, light banana, and some tropical fruit. Clear gold with no head. Less sweet than the nose insinuates, lots of fruit and spice. Chewy texture with a dry finish.

Tastes like a hoppy wheat beer with a shot of whiskey dropped in. Brewed in whiskey barrels. Pretty harsh! The whiskey is way to dominant unless you love whiskey. If you do I believe you will love this beer. I do taste the wine barrel which is more pleasing to me. Itís a well crafted beer but not in my pleasure zone. I only tried it because it was a Deschutes. A disappointment for me.

Tap at the saucer. Pours a clear copper orange color with a frothy white head. Aroma is peanut brittle, wood, white wine and grapes with a slight sweetness. Flavor is sweet Belgian fruit and yeast, brown sugar, wood and a bit of spice. There is a nice warming tingle on the finish that makes this very good, just watch yourself on this one!!

Brown, cloudy, not much head. Dark fruit aroma and flavor dominate this one. I guess I donít recognize what the oak aging does. Quite drinkable for 11%.

Hazy medium brown color/ tan head. grainy caramel, clove, banana estery alcohol aromas. Medium bodied. Big ester phenol banana clove flavors with grainy sweet caramel, rootbeer spice, and a fuel alcohol finish--not quite good.

Pleasant aroma, fruity, sugary; rather sweet in the mouth, quite fruit-driven, medium-bodied w/ some weight; complex, sweet & tart layers, a sour citrus element, gets liqueur-like, red wine, finishes long. Excellent.

Served in a tulip. Pours copper like a new shiny penny with small off white head that quickly disappears leaving a small foamy ring. Quite a lot going on in the nose...sour apple, dark fruit, caramel and booziness. Flavor is much the same with a nice sourness, dark fruit, yeast and some alcohol. This is a very nice beer but not in the classic Quad style. More sweet than I had expected but with much less boozy than I would have thought from the 11% abv. Glad I finally picked this up before it disappeared.

Bottle.
Pours a chunky cheddar orange with an aroma of musty air, raisin, light wine oak, and a touch of plumb bread. Flavor is raisiny bread left to age in a wine cask, and it finishes with plumb and dust. Chunky on the tongue. Iíd rather this had been a straight-up quad, as the added aging does little to nothing to alter the flavor.

Bomber by myself. Pour is a fairly clear light amber copper, though some floaties down at the end of the bottle. Not much head, and what is there diminishes quickly to very little lacing. Aroma is pretty nice: Quite a bit of caramel, nice dark fruit (plums, raisins) with just a hint of booze. Some yeast character as well. Taste is much the same, with a fairly large caramel presence, some light smokey notes (barrel character?). As the beer warms close to room temp, it really begins to shine, with a lot more bright fruityness from either the wine or the pomegranate. Not bad, but not something I would by a lot of.

Black waxed bomber pours clear deep copper with tiny off white head. The aroma is interesting with honey and then rauch malts followed by fruit esteriness like syrup covered apple wedges, brown sugar covered peach pieces and figs and these are all harshly rounded out by a good dose of boozy heat. The taste is full of apples and peaches and pomegranates as it builds into some modest boozy roughness. To midway an interesting addition of honey and rauch malts come forward along with notes of white wine, a mild level of whiskey booze and oak. Man, this beer is all over the place and seems to struggle with itself to keep from coming apart at the edges.
