3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 crosamich (430) - Naples, Florida, USA - JUL 28, 2012F’n iPad deleted my entire long review! Sigh. no yeast like the previous review. Sweetness and some vanilla is there may be from the barrels but mainly from the residual sugars. Moderate body, guess I expected more complexity I guess. Not bad all together though.

Pours a medium amber-gold with a foamy white head and lacing. It has an aroma of apricot, yeast, and spice. The flavor is apricot, coriander, and yeast up front with a sweet, malty middle and a sweet, balanced, slightly dry and spicy aftertaste over a medium body.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 DocJitsu (334) - California, USA - MAR 30, 2013
Pours a cloudy golden copper with a white head that attenuates quickly. This is not my style, but I was pleasantly surprised. The bouquet is characterized by raisin, green banana, and Fruity Pebbles. Flavors of sweet green banana and raisin that finishes with tart grape. This beer drinks like a Belgian without that usual undesirable yeast finish.

Well, the components seemed to be there, big wine barrel aged beer with a unique added ingredient from a legit brewery. Unfortunately the product seemed raw and obvious. Huge, dense candied sugar that can barely be made aromatic sits way under nice vinous notes overshadowed by juicy red fruits with baked apples. Definitely unique, but carbonation or something else to carry or cut the sweetness just isn’t there. Mouth was also unique, but just too elastic memory foam when savored. Weird stuff. Maybe a 5 year old bottle would be more nuanced. Wouldn’t buy again - way too sweet.

Initial smell is pear and peach. Taste is tart pomegranate and cherry bourbon. Best by my @ss. This beer is still developing.

It poured a clear copper/orange color with a fizzy tan head. The aroma was of heavy tart fruit, tobacco, wood and small alcohol aroma. The taste was of soft carbonation with small particles and a medium to heavy fruit sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Very nice.

One of the more interesting quads I’ve ever had...looks and tastes more like a trippel. Pours a vibrant orange with sediment. Very nice. Aromas run the gammet, sweet candy and yeast, vinous, lemon, very nice. Sweet bubblegum and candy. Sour, white wine qualities as well. Yeasty, bready, fruity, lots of citrus. Very interesting, in a very good way. Age might do some nice things with this beer. Excellent.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JCB (3859) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - FEB 8, 2013
Well blow me down, a blonde quad. Honey colored pour, very well carbonated and tons of sticky lacing. Nice nose indeed, with wine barrel and white raisins coming through initially along with sweet toffee. With some age, I’d imagine the mouthfeel could become fairly slick; but in its youth things are fairly frothy, and there’s some spice and heat on the palate too. As the beer warms, the fruit flavors emerge with some more complexity, adding just a hint of tartness that tends to evoke more quad character. Rye spice emerges ever so slightly too. Pretty damn tasty.

16th December 2011 Hazy amber beer, big pale cream coloured head. Light palate, crispy and fairly dry. Little lactose sweetness quickly stamped on by mild spice. Sweet fruits in the mid and tinned peach and mildly tart orange - but it’s mostly peach. Finishes crisp and dry. Bit dry and peachy!

Surprisingly light blonde/pink pour with no head. Aroma is fruit and flowers with some spicy ester qualities. Taste is a bit potporri and sweet with a syrupy mouthfeel thats not real pleasant. Kind of a miss but interesting to try.

Very red berries and cherries flavors, light and oaky, decent but a little sweet
