(#54) 22oz bottle bought in Dec 11’. Poured into tulip. Appearance: Golden amber with a haze. Some initial head, white with not much lacing. Aroma: Sweet fruits. Cherries, pomegranates, grapes, peaches, pears. Rye whiskey notes hidden well in the back. Honey. Buttery. Taste: Sweet malt, then a little tartness/sourness from pomegranate. Clove, banana, and caramel flavors coming through. Palate: Med bodied. Smooth. Pretty good carbonation. Sour aftertaste lingering. Overall: It’s a delicious Quad. I might buy another bottle if it came around. Glad to have tried it.

Tap at the chance, aroma of oak, banana, and sweat fruits, taste is almost like a quad meets a barley wine. Taste has a ton of fruit hints of citrus, vanilla, and oak. taste holds wonderfully. Very nice

From bomber. Pours a not-quite clear orange with a minimal white head and hardly any lacing as well. Fruity aroma and taste of stone fruits with some apple, white raisins, and a hint of funk on the nose. Taste is quite sweet - too sweet. I’m only halfway through the glass but I’m tired of it. Otherwise nice complex flavor. Medium mouthfeel. Gentle carbonation.

On tap at Albertsons. Pours out a medium golden with red tinge. Aroma is pit fruit, prunes. Taste comes on strong with fruit sweetness, sugar and a copious amount of alcohol warmth. Body seems a bit light, but flavor makes up for that shortcoming.

bomber shared poured a dark amber color with smallish white head. aroma is sweet malts, dark fruits and some booze elements. the flavor is more of the same I think this one can age for awhile. nice warm sweet malts blended with some dark fruits and a minimal warm alcohol burn on the back end.

The beer pours a hazy orange with a medium white head. The aroma blends pit fruit, caramel, and treacle. The taste is mildly sweet and slightly umami with not as many dark malt sweetness as I would expect from this style. The palate fuses a soft carbonation, medium body, and a slick texture.

On tap a Global Brew. Pours a hazy amber/orange with a thin off white head. aroma is treckle sweet with some fruit. Taste is sweet lightly toasted malt, bread dough, alcohol, and assorted light dried fruit (apricots, peaches, pears). A bit cloyingly sweet, but a good Quad.

On tap at Dutch’s. Pours a clear orange amber color, a bit more pale than I remember quads being. Like La Trappe quad -colored (which is coincidentally the last quad I had -- maybe I’m remembering the color of quads wrong). Thin off-white head, leaving some loose ropes of lace. Caramel, pomegranate up front, some sweet bready malt. Get some nice mild tannic and rye whiskey influence. It’s subtle, but there. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter, some nice light warmth. Bigger body. Smooth. kind of crisp lighter carbonation. Mildly slick. Solid. Not sickly sweet or anything, easy-drinking enough for this hot/humid day. Just doesn’t match the complexity and body of my favorite quads.
