On tap @ Deschutes Portland. Pours a deep clear orange. Nose is tangy sweet berries. Taste is boozy, faint pomegranate, oaky whiskey, with candi sugar and clove spice dominating. This is a huge Belgian. Clearly not a traditional quad, and probably outside of Deschutes comfort zone, but good nonetheless.

And the gods of beer smiled upon us. This is a bottle from 2010 or so that has been lurking in the back of my cabinet for years. Very cloudy two toned dark/lighter orange pour, light head. Wow what a nose! Mandarin orange, apricot, orange blossoms, fruit cocktail, sweet and thick. Tons of yeast sediment. Palate is apricot, stone fruit, concentrated pineapple/orange/guava (POG!), kind of grapey with some modest Belgian spice. I taste no pomegranate. Very complex, very dynamic, rich, sweet, chewy, with a looooong, satisfying finish. Alcohol is present but nicely balanced. This was a one-off, very likely never to be repeated experience that was simply remarkable. I will think about this beer for a long time.

Pours a cloudy brown amber colour with a little white lacing and no head. Aroma of alcohol, raisins and banana, a nice smelling beer. Kinda tastes like it smells, kinda weak up front but the middle and end aren’t bad. A good beer not a great beer.

On Tap at Bitter Creek Ale House, Boise Deschutes Tap "not" TakeOver Hazy deep orange, with a thin white ring. Rich malty fruit aroma, Sweet and spicy with a lot of that Belgian maltiness. Some ABV burn and a slight carbonation sizzle. Delicious

Bottle share at RBAG. Golden yeasty pour with light white head. Aroma is malty, spices, rasins. Taste is light malty sweetness, spices, mild finish, with very little hint from th booze. Solid but reminds me more of a Belgian ale than a quad.

Had a few years back when it came out, once in bottle, once on tap. Was pretty good, don’t really remember being too WOW’d or anything though.

Aroma gives hints of dark fruit, spice and some spirits/ alcohol. Appearance is much lighter than I expected from a "quad." Beautiful, crystal clear, ruby-gold. Flavor is rich. Dark fruit, cherries, subtly women in with flavors reminiscent of wine & spirits. Body is medium, and fairly crisp, but the finish hangs on the tongue more and the 11% alcohol can be felt as nice warmth in the throat, though the beer is definitely very drinkable for 11%. A very complex, unique and enjoyable brew.

Bottle. Hazy copper/orange pour with a slight ring of white foam. Smells like a wine/whiskey melange with some darker fruit malts lurking in the background. Taste is fruity grape with sharper whiskey notes and heavier malt followed by dry, alcohol vapors. Relatively clean mouthfeel. Unique and odd.
