3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 jazz88 (2397) - San Francisco, USA - SEP 13, 2011
Bottle. A golden color with a white head. Hard to see this as a quad given the light color but it has quite a punch. A strong sweet aroma with light berries, orange, spices and honey that carry over well into the flavor. It has a nice fruity character and rich burst of flavor on the palate. Definitely a slow sipping beer.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 beerisgoodforu (753) - Nørresundby, DENMARK - MAY 30, 2012
Bottle. Pours a dark orange color with a white head. Aroma is of lightly tart pomegranate, sugary notes, spice of pepper and clove, banana, pear and apple and subtle oak. The flavor follows the nose tart pomegranate, subtle oak, sweet malt, sugar, spice of black pepper and clove, banana, pear, white grape and apple. The body is medium with a dry mouth feel. Overall a good brew, not a Quad, more like a Belgian Strong Blonde Ale.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 DocLock (5970) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 29, 2012
Bombers from Blue Dog and Capone’s. Pours clear medium copper with 1-finger frothy head and a lot of carbonation. The head is loud, and sounds like Oprah separating her flaps for Gayle King. Nose is oaky white wine grapes, hops, citrus, pomegranate, nice nose here. Tastes hoppy, fruity, with a big pomegranate and white wine grape flavor, some funky esters, and finishing oak and more hops. This one works well with the oak as an accoutrement to the grapey and pome flavors. Gets hot late, and reminds me of an Ommegang offering but with slight less funk and more fruit, and is a solid beer.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 vyvvy (2920) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - MAY 28, 2012
Sampled at STL Microfest 2012 - Pours clear golden with a white head. The aroma is quite sweet with Belgian candie sugar, fruitiness and abbey ale yeast. Medium / full body with semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts like the aroma with a ton of sweetness and fruitiness - very cloying and over the top for me. The finish has more Belgain yeast aspects and lots of alcohol beating up my taste buds. Too sweet for my tastes.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 callmemickey (795) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 22, 2012
Hazy straw-orange body. Minimal off-white head. Soapy lacing here and there. Mild citrus fruits, hints of tropical fruits, spicy rye, light tannic oak. Flavor is similar, but a bit muddled, yet still pleasant. Medium bodied, a bit thinner than expected. Not a bad beer by any stretch, this just isn’t a quad though.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 savnac (1478) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - MAY 21, 2012
22 oz bottle. Hazy amber/orange with almost no head and fine floaties. Aroma of musty oak, spicy yeast esters, light pit fruit and honey. Flavor of sweet sugar and malt, spicy and fruity yeast and a light alcohol burn. Medium body with mild carbonation and a syrupy mouth feel. Ok beer, the fruit is lost and seems more like a Strong Belgian Golden to me.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ACHops (35) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 20, 2012
On tap @ Deschutes Portland. Pours a deep clear orange. Nose is tangy sweet berries. Taste is boozy, faint pomegranate, oaky whiskey, with candi sugar and clove spice dominating. This is a huge Belgian. Clearly not a traditional quad, and probably outside of Deschutes comfort zone, but good nonetheless.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 BlackIPA (326) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAY 20, 2012
Shared by someone at the Monte’s Krown tasting yesterday. Cloudy straw yellow pour, white head. Very fruity esters creeping through in the aroma with some yeast. Dry, quick finish. Very nice.

Wow. Just a surprising flavor. Apricot jam and barnyard, regular quad in there, but the candy, and the bright sour, fun, fun, fun.
