COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It took two mashes to brew this stout, using only the highest gravity first running of each mash. Hops are large additions of Chinook and Millenium to balance this monster ale. Conditioned for eight weeks in a Jim Beam Bourbon barrel, it carries subtle oak and black licorice undertones.

Tap @ brewpub - This was a pretty good stout, one of the best beers I have had from Deschutes in all the time Ive been coming here. Some boozy qualities, woody rum notes, some chocolate and roasted coffee, and some vanilla in the finish.

On X tap at Bond Street Deschutes location. Very reminiscent of Abyss. Thick dark black body with tan wispy top. Lots of flavor complexities including vanilla and chocolate. Mild bourbon and roasted coffee malt presence. A class act beer. Went back the next day and it was gone. Boo hoo!

This is really a monster stout, but for being aged in bouron barrels, it barely is noticeable, very subtle vanilla notes, but I was expecting more and bigger. Medium bodied, with lots of roasted coffee and lots of licorice notes. Unabalanced all around, too big for its britches, this one misses out somewhere along the way.
