Thin head. With an almost clear, medium straw colored body.
Smells like wheat and roses. Interesting and unexpected.
Mild taste of honey, mild bitterness and a touch of sweetness.
Fizzy texture, moderate carbonation and medium body.
A fine enough drink.

Bottled. Light yellow amber with a thick cream head. The aroma is mild, mostly pick up the Amarillo hop. The taste is sharp and bitter, medium body, with a dry finish. Overall quite hoppy with a nice malt finish, not bad.

On tap @GarricksHeadPub. Peachy hops, wheaty malts. Bright and tasty. Light in colour and body but full-flavoured.

Poured from bottle to pint glass. Maybe sat on As month or two longer than it should. That said, nice hoppy aroma filled with citrus. Taste follows suit a bit with clear hop presence and a bit of citrus. Malt is lacking, as is any real depth. Highly drinkable, however. Good summer beer.

On draught at Garricks Head, Victoria, Canada. Really glad we’re getting this kind of stuff on the island. Pours gold enough that I thought it must be a blonde when it arrived. Nose of heavy sweet citrus, pine in the background. Flavour is the same, lots of tangerine, quite sticky, not much caramel. Really pleasant beer.

Bottle sampled at a tasting event. From notes. Citrus and grassy hops with just a hint of caramel. Not bad.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Odd beer. Mellow bitterness, soft and smooth with a long soft bite, dull pepper, can’t figure out the malt at all. Seems different than last week. Not really fruity. Terrible description. Enjoyable and crushable.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours hazy golden with a nice white head and moderate lacing. Nose has a hint of citrus. The flavor is citrus without much sweetness, and has a moderately bitter finish. Overall, this is an easy drinker, but nothing special.

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2013 Great as a session beer. Nice hop profile, especially for a summer beer. Burnt orange color and a small amount of white head. Nice lacing.

Deschutes is fast becoming one my favorite brewers, first Chainbreaker, now this. Hazy golden with silky head, thick lacing and active fine carbonation make for a beautiful beer. Aroma is light but taste come on with a nice light malt profile and minor hops presence. The whole package makes for a smooth and easily drinkable beer.
