I wanted to like this beer but just didn’t. It was hand delivered to me after a trip to Portland and its sampling was quite anticipated. It is a nice looking beer with a pleasant orange hue and it has a pretty cool head that fades to a subtle lacing. The aroma was one I could not quite get a handle on. Perhaps the complicated mixture of hops was the issue. However, the combination of tartness and bitter was unpleasant. Towards the end of the glass I was anxious for the it to be empty. Well, that is beer tasting for you. To those who love this beer CHEERS!

On tap. A clear gold with a white head and lots of lacing. It has an aroma of strong grapefruit, with a flavor of grapefruit as well in addition to a malty backbone and a slightly bitter aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice clear copper color, pours nice foamy head with good lacing. Quite impressed with the appearance. Aroma is bright, fresh hops but light. Flavor is sharp and hop forward (citrusy hops I think but hard to pin down) but a lingering malt hangs over it. Overall, as a summer picnic beer, it is quite nice.

May 25, 2012 tap at Groveland Tap. Golden orange pour with some head and lacing. Aroma was citrus hops and malt. Taste was pretty much the same. Little bit thin and watery.

12 oz bottle into nucleated pint glass. It poured a clear light amber color with fluffy off-white foam, lasting with excellent lace. Aromas of spicy, citrusy American-style hops, underneath which I smelled bread, caramelized brown sugar and fruity ale yeast esters. Flavors were solid malt sweetness with perfectly balanced hops bitterness, apricots, citrus zest. Grapefruity, but not as one-dimensional as most APAs. Light-medium body, hight spritzy carbonation, crisp and refreshing, a very well-crafted hops-forward summer ale. A delicious pale ale.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear golden. Nose of citrus hops, orange, and straw. Taste is light citrus and floral hops. Very light body. Great summer session.

Bottle from Blue Dog Lansdale. Pours clear gold with 2-finger uniform white head. Nose is heavy resiny hops, citrus, black peppery spice. Tastes hoppy, piney, with tangerine and peppery mid-palate notes, and a crisp, hoppy finish with a good balance as well. This one is stellar.

This beer has a nice orange amber hue with fair carbonation. A light thin foamy head sits on top. Aroma find some citrusy hop bouquet and malts, but quiet light on the nose. To me the flavor was very light on the palette with hops balancing malts nicely. But the flavor is weak and light like a light, say an light APA. There are no faults that I can detect. A desent all purpose beer.

12oz bottle best before 08/10/12 from Olive Tree Market in OB. Clear medium gold with a two finger off-white head, pretty good retention. Nose has some lightly herbal and sweaty citrus hops atop a bready biscuit malt backbone. Flavor has some stronger biscuit malt presence, and far from a "vigorous hop essence." If anything, it is quite balanced, or even a bit malt forward. Thankfully, has scant sweetness. Herbal dry earthy finish with bitterness at a 3. Low to moderate carbonation with a lightish body. Easy drinking, not really any faults. Would’ve liked a bit more of a hop presence. The base beer (minus the aroma/flavor hops) is pretty much want I would want in the malt and bitterness of a great beer, though.

Lots of light citrus on the aroma. Orange and grapefruit. Color of clear, light gold reminiscent of the name with a very nice full white head. Lacing down the glass as well. Grapefruit packs a soft punch here with slight bittering and a little astringency which detracts slightly from the dry finish.

Draft sample at Microfest 2012. Pours a hazy yellow color with a big, frothy white head. Pale malts, straw, mild citrus fruit, grass, cream, and bread. Light-bodied, with a bready mouthfeel and crisp carbonation. Pretty bland, actually, but crisp and refreshing all the same.
