BillKismet (1388), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 7, 2008 Rich gold with decent head. Nice citrusy-honeyed hop aroma with notes of tangerine. Flavor is light graininess and mild hops, slightly stale. Decent, easy drinking, with some nice and interesting qualities, but on the whole, underwhelming.
Sparky27 (498), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 20, 2008 12oz Bottle. Pours a clear medium gold with a one finger white head and spotty lacing. Nose is sweet grass and malt. Taste is pretty much the same with a twangy bitter finish that comes off a bit manufactured. Medium mouth feel. Refreshing, but something just seems “off” about this beer. SuperDave70 (720), Arizona, USA Aug 18, 2008 Golden straw color pour with a foamy white head. Aroma of light malt and sweet light fruits. Flavor is similarly sweet and fruity, but with just a hint of a floral hoppiness on the finish. Medium bodies and refreshing on the palate. Not a bad summer brew. Mes_and_Sim (4176), London, Greater London, England Aug 17, 2008 A Mes rate: Bottle at GBBF. Pale gold with a thin white head. Fairly tropical hoppage all round. Nice grapefruit notes, some peach and not really enough malt to give it a back bone. Nice flavours just a bit lifeless. harrisoni (5106), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 15, 2008 Bottle from GBBF 08. I’ve always thought that Deschutes were under-rated and a little over looked. It’s a little hazy straw coloured with a thickish ivory head. Smells like a sweaty sox hop UK golden ale. You know what? It’s a bit like a souped up Woodforde’s Wherry. Crazy but it does. A little stronger, a little less malty and yeasty, but the hops are very reminiscent of Wherry. It’s great. I’m sat here in Ashford, drinking beer from Oregon. Does life get much better? oh6gdx (5681), Vaasa, Finland Aug 8, 2008 Bottled. Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is peach, tropical fruits and sweet wood. Flavour is the same with a big grassy finish.
