COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A lighter, yet full-flavored, aromatic Ale for the long days of summer. Twilightís solid malt foundation pairs with distinctive Amarillo hops for flavors every bit as intriguing as bigger, heavier ales. A back porch, lingering sunset wonder.

Nearly clear gold with a 3 finger, chunky eggshell head. Aroma is big on fruity hops, lots of citrus, a little spicy hop, biscuit, light caramel, mineral notes and a touch of pine. Flavor is toast, cereal, biscuit and pale caramel up front, some sweet fruity notes, citrus, passion fruit, and some mineral and lingering sweet orange citrus to the finish. Light to medium body with a slightly sticky entry, leading to a crisp, off dry finish. Good stuff overall, definitely a good lawnmower beer/summer quencher. Though it would be quite a bit better if it were just a bit less sweet.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy medium copper with a half finger white head. Head retention really isnít all that great but there is some ok lacing. Aroma really brings out some orange peel and lemon zest. Maybe a little fruit punch too. It is very juicy but not so much tropical. Very little malt in the nose. The flavor has loads of lemon up front backed up by some orange. There is a strong graininess that quickly rushes in but it works well to balance out the hops. Just a fairly mild bitterness that lingers and helps to cleanse the palate. Overall, a nice version of a blonde ale. Maybe a bit more hoppy than other examples but it is a great thirst quencher with good flavor to boot.

I just assumed based on the name this would be amber or brown ale but it is more of a pale ale or even a blond. It is orange in color, slightly cloudy, w/ a ring of foamy white head and little patches of lace. This is a hop forward but mild beer w/ a little bit of spruce tip pine but mostly focused on orange and lemon citrus flavor. It is medium bodied w/ moderate carbonation and finishes cleanly w/ just a slight burst of bitterness. This isnít a head turner at all but is really nice to drink and there is something to be said for simple, thirst quenching pale for the summertime.

Bottle came from a too warm cooler. Net result being that some qualities of the beer are exaggerated good, others less. Appearance is great with a huge frothy head and lots of lace. Aroma is fruit and hops with a little grain and malt. Body because of temp is hard to gauge. Aftertaste may have been affected by a shot of rye whiskey which gave it some not so good flavs.

Bottle. Slightly hazy golden pour with a white head, good lacing. Aroma is malty, a little bready, with some notes of tropical fruits. Lots of flavour here for the style, bitter hop character and a complex blend of fruity and roasty malts. Doesn't quite come together though. Good enough, but not great.

Bottle at home. Pours lightly hazy amber with a medium, frothy off-white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is mango, citrus and herbal hops with apple and pear esters, strawberry, and light biscuit malt. Flavor is medium hops and bitterness, light sweet malt, mostly balanced, fruity esters and a sweet finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Pours mostly clear, medium golden, slight thin white head lots of thin lacing. Aroma sweet tangerine, slight bready malt, pine and floral hops, slight fruity esters. Taste slightly bitter orange and tangerine, bready malt, some fruity esters, finish slight bitter citrus. Mouthfeel fairly thin body, medium carbonation, crisp, slightly dry finish. Overall nice beer, well made, nice alternative to fizzy yellow.

Alright, I purchased a six pack of this summer ale for a fishing trip, and I found this brew to be both a bit interesting flavorwise but a bit lacking in body and presence. Itís drinkable, but a bit on the slight side.... and whereís the aroma?

Poured from 12oz bottle. Nothing impressive here. Hoping for a hoppier bite like the one described on the bottle. --you've been Dubbed.

Picked this 6íer up just for the sake of variety. Itís, itís...uninspired and predictable: little of this, little of that. One of those styles that really shouldnít be made.

Deschutes is a badass brewery that makes some mind-blowingly good beers. In some ways that works against Twilight Ale because my expectations were damn high for it. Sadly, itís just not on par with some of the other brews in terms of boldness and balance. That said, itís definitely drinkable. Aroma is on the light side but itís fairly complex with pine, biscuity malt, grapefruit, and apricot. Taste follows the nose but with the spiciness of Amarillo hops offering another flavor dimension. I really liked the finish which was plenty bitter and crisp. The 5% ABV is another upside to this beer. As the name suggests, this ale is quite fitting for the conclusion of a hot summer day. Twilight isnít a total letdown but itís not a memorable seasonal either. Hey, at least it doesnít have any shitty vampires in it. Sorry, I had to make that joke.
