COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A lighter, yet full-flavored, aromatic Ale for the long days of summer. Twilight’s solid malt foundation pairs with distinctive Amarillo hops for flavors every bit as intriguing as bigger, heavier ales. A back porch, lingering sunset wonder.

Pale golden pour with a thin white head. The nose is a little bit spicy and hoppy. Some citrus and a bit of light spice along with a touch of soft fruitiness. A little bit of clean pale malt and a bit of light crackery malt. A touch of flinty/yeasty bitterness and some nice balance. Great stuff. Fresh and tasty.

Light orange color. Smell is a little musty. Taste is light and clean with some mild citrus hops. Little funky bread in the back. OK but there are many better summer beers.

Draught at the Deschutes Taproom, Portland, OR.
Cloudy orange golden colour with a small off-white head. Sweet fruity and floral hops, mild bitterness and mild sweetness in the aroma. Sweet fruity hops, mild bitterness and some sweet maltiness in the flavour. Easy and fruity.

Yellow-gold, average head. Smells more piney than it tastes. Citric hops are present, pretty mellow (which I noticed when comparing with alternating sips of a pale), but balanced with sweet malts that don’t cling with plenty of carbonation for a nice summer beer. Nothing special, but an easy summer drinker.

Pours an amber color with a medium white head that left some lacing around the glass. The aroma is bready, earthy, floral hops, and some pine. The taste is similar, it is sweet but there is some hop bitterness to round it out.

bottle. Amber with one finger head. Medium body with caramel and earthy hops. Dry finish. Fairly unique for a pale ale, but not my thing.

Hops: Northern Brewer, Amarillo, Cascade, Tettnang. Malt: NW Pale, Carastan, Carapils. Best by date of 07.25.14. Poured into a tumbler on 05.15.14. A: Somewhat cloudy amber. 3 finger head. Nice lacing. S: Spices. Very malty and sweet. T: Spices, caramel dominate. M: Creamy. Good carbonation. O: The hops weren’t detectable in this one. It tasted more like an amber.

Draft pours a hazy yellow and orange. Aroma is light bread, and yeast, with mild pine. Taste is similar, light bitterness and medium yeast flavors

Bottle A: Darkened gold color with a fuzzy white head. N: Grapefruit, pine, earth, biscuit, some toast, a hint of pineapple. Peppercorn. T: Decently bitter, a bit spicy, a touch sweet. M: Medium body, creamy full carbonation, alcohol is hidden. O: Certainly not a summer session ale, and for that, I am appreciative. i really like this one fresh hopped or on cask at the Portland brewpub, but I’m not reviewing those versions. Get em if you can, enjoy this one in the summer, too.
