NachlamSie (1387), Tennessee, USA Oct 29, 2006 Bottle. Pours still and roughly off-yellow. Sampled this chilled to about 45 degrees. The aroma is very raw of fresh honey with some hints of fruits, though I probably couldn’t identify blackberry had I not read it on the label. It has a medium level of sweetness, for mead, with a finish that brings out some earthy notes. It actually hints at yeast a bit underneath the fruity sweetness. Not too bad, but not my favorite mead. Libeerian (208), Garner, North Carolina, USA Apr 25, 2006 Straw color. The honey and blackberries in the aroma are a bit subtle but the flavor very nice blend between the berries and honey in this semi-sweet melomel. Moderately warming. “Desi & Jack’s” is named after the maker’s cat & the apiarist.
