1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle from polish shop, dudley port. Nothing new Polish wise and this was the only tick. Golden beer with small head highly carbonated. Aroma of crushed mint leaf and nettle leaves. Taste is sweet lemonade, pale malts and mint leaf with some lime in the finish. Drinkable in a novelty sort of way, no more please.

1.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
Ah, here’s my favorite brand again, with yet another flavour. Lime, mint and tequila extracts in a cheap lager from a transparent longneck bottle, what can go wrong... Pours a clear ’old gold’ colour with some tiny bits of ’dust’ floating around, calm fizz, loose, snow white head. Obnoxious aroma from half a yard away: this almost smells like a mojito, which is probably the intention; lime, white rhum, indeed peppermint, lemonade and only very, very faintly a desperate graininess trying to convince you that this is still beer. I’ll give it one thing: contrary to my expectations, the infamous ’lightstruck’ effect (cat pee) is not noticeable. Sugary sweet onset, like Fanta or some other overly sweet and industrial Coca Cola product, cloying to the teeth, industrial lemon juice acidity, thin and slick mouthfeel with a fair amount of carbonation, and then it happens: retronasal mint, and lots of it, but far removed from the fresh peppermint my grandmother used to make tea with - this is very artificial, almost like peppermint candy. Finish is a bit dryish, some bitterness there, chemical, with that awful tequila extract manifesting itself; meanwhile the lemonade-like sweetness and ascorbic acid remain firmly in place. I sincerely hope this is the last addition to this brand. That being said, I found it a bit less off-putting than the original version, but equally ’unbeery’.

Bottle from b&m, Team Valley, Gateshead. Golden, pale white coloured with a sugary sweet citrus, lemon and lime flavour followed by strong spearmint and more sugar and citrus on the finish. More an alcopop than a beer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500 ml. can @ home. For science. Very clear, light golden, slightly greenish, sparkling, fizzy egg-white chemical head. Nose is pure lemonade, cheap generic brand lemonade, chemical white sugar sweet mint, lots of lemonade. Taste is heavy chemical mint, sweeteners, 100 % artificial, detergent, odd artificial faintly bitter chemical mint aftertaste, odd washing powder sweetness,… Washing powder & lemonade body. Super-duper chemical. This is perfect for minus 16 kids looking to get drunk. This really just tastes like chemical lemonade with no signs of beer or anything resembling an alcoholic drink. For the crowd that is likely to go for this, this is perfect really much like Desperados Red, regular Desperados is still nasty.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
33cl bottle from a local Asian shop. A watery pale straw appearance; unexpectedly fresh minty aroma; strong spearmint taste with a corn syrup body. Certainly better than expected.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I am nearly 61, why am I opening this bloody thing: it is not as if I need a French tick or anything. Anyway this clear 330ml bottle cost me £1.49 from a local Asian supermarket: my son said I’d like it! Poured into a ’La Chouffe’ badged stemmed tulip glass at home on 12 Nov 2014. I knew it was going to be pale golden because of the clear bottle, the billowing white head was a surprise though. Lime and mint aroma, just like the bottle claimed, hid the tequila though, if there was/is any. The taste mirrored the nose. I thought it quite refreshing and different to be honest, not as bad as I expected. Not really a cold winters night beer, but I almost enjoyed it.

I didn’t really get any mint. Too bad, as it probably would have helped. Crappy pale lager with stale lime from concentrate flavor added.

The mint is frankly weird in a beer but the lime dominates. It's surprisingly nicer than regular Desperados and not totally undrinkable, if a very strange novelty.
