COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An American-Belgo style pale ale with notes of banana, berry, apple, coriander spice-like and smokey phenolic characters from the Belgian yeast, balanced by medium-high American citrus hop flavor, aroma and bitterness.

Draft on tap at the brewpub (Normal, IL). Pours a nice well hazed golden orange pour, lighter glowing edges, almost a bit murky as a decent sized offwhite head sits atop. Laces ok, as it dies to a film. Aromas are a melange of citrusy lemons and orange peel, touches of yeasty spice, bread dough, with some touches of estery apples and pears. Citrusy orange grows with bready dough starting to take over. Initial is bitter up front, impressive citrusy and floral hops bitter the tounge up front, moving into some oranges and a touch of fuzziness. Dry and restrained, the sweeter malts work their way into the fold on the backend with bread dough, touches of yeasty spice, florals, and fruity esters showing up, some banana bread. The middle holds the malts, as the end really bitters up again, grass and florals, quite dry with some citrus clinging on. Nice, but that’s my take on Belgians.. I don’t like them sweet, so the more dry and bitter the finish, the better in my book.

On tap at the brand new brewpub in Champaign, part of a large tasting flight that I wasn’t even charged for! Medium golden, scant head. Perfumey citrus and tropical fruit hops, lightly spicy, very bitter. More like a classic American APA.
