COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Belgian-style Brown Ale has a nice malty aroma and flavor that dominates over the moderate hop bitterness. A roasted, chocolate-like and biscuit-like aroma is derived from dark malts. Noble-type hop flavor and aroma, fruity esters and phenolic spiciness & slight sourness from the yeast are perceptible. Sampled on tap at Oak Park MicroBrew Review (Oak Park, IL). Snuck away for some rates while pouring today. Pours a nice darker brown pour, near opaque with lighter brown glowing edges. A small frothy offwhite head maybe a bit tan dies to a ring, laces small. Aromas are sweet malts, brown malts, toffee, some cocoa, more caramel, and some fruit. A touch of spice, vanilla, and brown sugar. Initial is medium bodied offering sweet toffee and caramel, some vanilla, brown malts, and fruity apples and bananas. Some touches of spice, with light toasty breads. Backend throws some light bitterness, light lingering sticky malts, vanilla, fruity esters, and light yeastiness. Fairly nice body, with some sticky sweetness. Quite enjoyable. Offering a kick of Belgian yeast, dry spice, sweet and fruity malts and some decent toastiness.

On tap at the brewpub: This this was a dandy, sessionable ale. It poured a deep chestnut/amber body with a creamy sustained head that laced in sheets. Its aroma had a light fruity sourness, milk chocolate, and roasted malt. It tasted of chocolate chip cookie dough, lightly roasted malts, and a quiet touch of sourness. Quite nice.
