Tap at Sugar Maple. The beer pours to a pitch black body with pretty much no head. The aroma is super charred malt. Pretty much black patent meets burnt coffee, but in a really good way. I’d say this is more of a dry stout... The flavor was tons of charred black malts with some light creosote and burnt coffee. I thought it worked pretty well, and I’d drink more of this. Medium body with that dry roasty feel. Alcohol was no where to be found.

Draft. Very dark brown color, tan head. Aroma of coffee grounds and bitter cocoa. Taste is espresso beans, bitter chocolate. Very tasty.

Draft to mini-snifter at Destihl. Looks good; an opaque dull black with light beige head. Smells of a nice balance of dark malt and roast. Tastes like it smells with a fairly bitter medium light-bodied mouthfeel. A nice example of the style.

Black-bodied, with a lightly browned head. Lovely roasty bouquet boosts the olfactory temperament. There is a wetness to the aroma along with some sweet sasparilla notes. Roasty body with nutty bursts. Dusty roast finish.

Growler from Ray’s in Tosa. Pours cola colored with a bit of a foamy brownish head. The lacing left after the second pour. Aroma has bakers chocolate, espresso, caramel and some simple sugar. Taste is of rich soft chocolate tones, with espresso and a solid caramel malt base. Maybe some belgian-y yeast spiciness, down through the glass. Medium to full bodied and fairly dry without much alcohol presence. Finishes bitter and sweet, with solid parts of both. Interesting flavor 14.4

Draft from Whole Foods Plymouth. Blackish pour with tan head. Nose was dark malt, cacao, milky oats. Tasted smooth, dark malty, with lactic and backup hop flavors.

Pour on tap at the brewery, dark reddish brown pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of roast, anise, some dark sugars into some red fruits, hints of coffee. Taste is a mix of dark sugars, slight dark fruit, hints of roast, some spice, anise, finishing sweet, slightly dry. Eh something odd about this.

On draft at Isaac Newtons. Nice aromatic notes of coffee and roast. Flavor was dry, very coffee, Earthy and roast. Body was a little thin. Overall not bad.

Draft. Dark brown with thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, and dark chocolate. Medium body, roasted malt, coffee, and dark chocolate with slight burnt notes and a dry finish.

On tap @ Destihl. Full black pour with a small off-white head. Aroma is mostly roasted malt and coffee. Slight cookie dough, licorice, and ash. A bit of earth and molasses. The flavor is only lightly sweet with some molasses, dark toffee, and cookie dough. Burnt sugar and lots of roasted malt. A heavy dose of coffee grounds and cocoa powder.
