Dark pour with off-tan head. Nose features brettanomyces characteristics (dark fruits, slightly sour) some sweetness, and a subdued roasted characteristic. The mouth is barrel forward with vanillins and tannins. As it warms a bit of fruit comes out. Cherries, and cherry flavor from the brett are a nice balance to the barrel flavors.

500mL capped think bottle. I only purchased this because I found it on deep discount, $4.99. Apparently, this half liter bottle was originally $17.99. I am not kidding, 18 fucking dollars for a beer that isnít sour, some expensive bourbon barrel, or made with some novelty ingredient like whale seamen or extraterrestrial yeast. Wait, let me make sure I get it, this originally cost EIGHTEEN FUCKING DOLLARS!!!! Who would want to spend that much for this beer? At 5 bucks, seems like a very decent price but at 18 I want to go to Illinois and piss on the Destihl brewery and charge them for it. But probably the worst aspect of this beer, apart from the original ridiculous price tag, is the use of cherries. Why do people like cherry stouts? And who likes them enough to pay $18 long greens for tart cherries mixed with roast malts? Eighteen clams!!!!! I do like the Belgian yeast character that smooths the edges and makes the combo of cherries and stout bearable. I guess one gets high quality when you pay out 18 bones. Would never be able to tell this is 11%, big advantage or the least one could do for 18 smackers. Slightly sweet, tart cherry, smooth and velvety mouthfeel = 18 dead presidents. It has one big hole, the cost... well except if one waits long enough for this to go on clearance.
Stamped B150-15512-1119 BOYCOTT BLAND. Cute, its attention to details like that that make the price all worth it :/

Destihl Cerise Stout Imperiale has an extremely thick, beige head, a dark brown, almost black, appearance, and very heavy lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of sharp, tart, fruity cherry juice, dark-roasted malt, and a bit of coffee. Taste is of those elements, along with coffee, chocolate fudge, dark, slightly-charred brown bread toast, high, pleasant bitterness, Bourbon, wood, and peat. Mouthfeel is thick and velvety, and Destihl Cerise Stout Imperiale finishes dry and not boozy (but, youíll feel it!). RJT
