This reverse engineered, wild Berliner-Style Weisse is a German-style sour that is very pale in color and is the lightest of all the German wheat beers. The unique combination of wild yeast and lactic fermentation yields a beer that is acidic, lemony-tart, highly attenuated and very light bodied. The carbonation of this Berliner Weisse is high, and hop rates are very low.

Can. Thanks to Mike. Sour, pickly, sourgrass flower aroma. Light hazy apple juice color. Super tart initial, thin wheatiness, with a bit of tingly white wine-like notes. Strong sourness all the way through. Thin, dry, and acidic. A bit overdone perhaps for a Berliner, but still very nice.

P- Light body, average texture, medium carbonation, tart finish. O- Really refreshing, but also really tart and sour. Quite acidic too. Great after mowing a lawn but I couldn’t down several.

Very clear golden coloured body with some peach and honey glow and a very thin, super fast-dying white head. Aroma of yeast, wheat, lemons, sour funk and a lot of acidic, sour candy - very nice. Super light-bodied; Strong lemon, funk, yeast, grass, bread and sour candy flavours with a lot of biting sour elements with a nice sweet candy-ish flavour and more sourness than you’d expect from this style, but shows very nicely. Aftertaste shows the lemon and funk at first with some residual breadiness and more sour and lemony funk notes at the end, that are all nice and smooth and make this great to drink, especially on a hot day - like it is today! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Spec’s in Dallas, Texas on 11-November-2015 for US$2,83 sampled at home in Washington on 10-September-2016. This can exploded upon opening and immediately fizzed out a lot of the head. However, after that, there was not much head at all on the beer.

On tap. Poured a slightly hazy straw color with a small head that faded quickly. Aroma of citrus and lemon with hint of grain. Taste of citrus, quite lemony with just a trace of malt. Solid bitterness that lingers into the finish. fairly light body with a definite tart presence. Nice beer, just not a style I crave.

6/5/16. Draft at Ramblers. Very nice expel of the style even if served in a high stemmed wine glass. Clean and refreshing on a hot evening. No need for the fruit syrup. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can at the hotel in NOLA - sourced from Stein’s. Pours clear, pale yellowy pink with a slim, creamy white head. Nice salty sweat aroma with inklings of lemon juice. Light sweet flavour with sturdy lemony acidity, some wheat, hay, more salty sweat. Light in body with spritzy carbonation. Super clean and refreshing in the finish, with more lemon juice, salty bite, sweaty acidity. Great b-weisse overall. Immensely drinkable.
