This reverse engineered, wild Berliner-Style Weisse is a German-style sour that is very pale in color and is the lightest of all the German wheat beers. The unique combination of wild yeast and lactic fermentation yields a beer that is acidic, lemony-tart, highly attenuated and very light bodied. The carbonation of this Berliner Weisse is high, and hop rates are very low.

12 oz can courtesy of csbosox. The pour is a hazed yellow golden with a one inch frothy white head. The aroma is a soft tart lemon acidity along with some soft wheat. The taste is bright acidic lemon, along with the grain of the wheat. Quite tart, sour and lemony. The palate is light bodied with fine carbonation and the bright acidity in the finish. Continues to be very sourly acidic in the aftertaste. Nice beer, although it was almost too acidic to be refreshing as I like my Berliners. Thanks for sharing these Destihl beers with me Chris.

Can: The aroma consists of moderate sour citrus, lemon, funk, must, and a touch of sour apple. It pours a transparent golden-orange with a fizzy white head that quickly dies down to a very fine ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of citrus /orange. It quickly turns to moderate-heavy sour lemon, citric acid, light tart apple skins, and a touch of must. It’s light bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, a super refreshing beer that I could drink all day.

Destihl Counter Clockweisse has a thin, white, fizzy, quickly-dissipating head, a clear, lemon-yellow appearance, with clinging bubbles, fierce bubble streams, and no lacing left behind. The aroma is of sour candy and sour bread, and the flavor is of the same thing, with an increasingly bready undertone, as drinking continues on. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Destihl Counter Clockweisse finishes tart and puckering. RJT

Tap. Pours cloudy straw with a small white head and some lacing. Aroma is kinda like lemony mineral water. Flavor is light plus tart, lemons, sea salt, mineral water. Light body, Simple, but easy to drink.
