COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This strong pale ale has a deep golden to copper color, medium body, medium maltiness and low caramel character. Floral and citrus-like American-variety hops have been used to produce high hop bitterness, flavor and aroma. Fruity-ester flavors and aromas are strong. Color- SRM 10.

[Tap] Dark golden/light amber pour with a large amount of foam on top. Citrus hoppiness is really all I get from the aroma. Taste is of bitter hops and grapefruit zest along with some bread and caramel. Could have had a better hop/malt balance (needed more malt, in my opinion). Light to medium in body. Tasting notes from 11/2011 during a visit to the Normal brewpub.

Draft pour on tap at the Normal Brewpub (Normal, IL). Pours a richer amber golden pour, good mellow haze, darker hues and glow. Frothy offwhite head dies to a good layer, good lacing. Aromas are fruity and bitter, good dryness, florals and lemon rind, grapefruit. Dough and pale grains. Initial is good bitter hops, lemon and grass, florals. Touches of soap, more florals, and gentle pine. Kiss of orange, florals, pine, and gentle soap profile work into the fold. Middle is gentle bready malts, dough, straw, grain. Still good bitterness, lemons and florals, grass. Earthy, a touch resiny. Backend and finish show dryness, simple bready and grainy malt, clean and dry. Good earthy bitter hopping, bits of lemon. Really nice and dry, good hopping albeit not the most complex profile. Smaller malt bill works for me.. A clean dry bitter finish wins some good points. Solid hoppy offering.

Dark amber cloudy pour. Citrus aroma. Taste is full of grass and citrus. Creamy full palate. Overall pretty tasty. I don’t know that I’d classify this as a double, but it was good nonetheless.

Draft at the Normal location. Pours a deep copper with an offwhite head. The nose is solid, nice and fruity hops, light caramel in the nose and a toasty grain note. Citrus and floral dominate. On tasting, fruity hops permeate. Notes of darker crystal malt on the palate, including some dark fruit notes. Drying finish. medium bodied overall, light astringency. Pretty solid beer.
