3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
This is a pretty glowing orange color w/ a long-lasting white head. It has a fairly fresh hoppy nose w/ pine, mango and melon in the nose. It is sweet and sticky w/ resinous bitterness but enough carbonation to lighten it a bit. This sweetness does serve to bring out some more tropical fruit character from the hops but it is a bit too much for my tastes. If you are into big, heavy IIPAs, this will surely scratch the itch for you.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice start with a big pine aroma, pours a clear dark amber with a thin white head. The flavor is a bit tilted to the caramel malt flavors, with the hops coming out in the finish. Unfortunately, the hop aroma doesn’t get followed up on in the flavor; meanwhile, the alcohol is well hidden, and this is a very drinkable beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can: The aroma consists of moderate caramel and lighter citrus hops. It pours a transparent copper with a two finger off-white head that fades to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. There is good amount of sticky webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate caramel with some light fruity notes. The finish has some citrus hops and pine that struggle to match the caramel malt. It’s medium-full bodied with mild carbonation and a somewhat sticky mouthfeel. Overall, on a hedonistic scale, this isn’t a bad beer, but this is a bad IIPA. Caramel should not be the dominant flavor and aroma in an IIPA. If I rated this to style, it would be in the low 2s.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. can pours a hazy orange amber with a small lingering off-white head and some lacing. Aroma is full of citrus and piney hops with lots of caramel. Flavor is the same. Taste is very sweet for a double IPA, with some bitterness in the finish. Body is medium to full with a sticky mouthfeel. Carbonation is less than average. Still, this one is a heavy hitter at 9.6% and quite enjoyable. I will try this again when I get the chance.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can @ Destihl. A little on the dark side of amber. White foam. Heavy on the caramel aroma. Fairly sweet hop profile as well--lots of orange and tangerine. Some pine and grass, too. Lots of toasted bread. Flavor is a bit sweeter than I like. A lot of caramel and toasted malt. Tangerine juice, orange peel, and some light pine bitterness. Slight grassy herb note. Good, just sweet.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz can from Steve’s in Fitchburg. First enjoyed in the can - partway - listening to the ballgame in the car between basketball games which cost $50, but that is another story. Pours orangey-copper with a bit of a white head. Some spots of lace. Aroma is heavily bitter with heavy citrus and almost a pepperminty-strength herb. Later some toffee shows through, and some sprucy pine with alcohol. Taste is of pineapple, grapefruit, lemon zest, sweet toffee malts, mango, heavy resin, some simple sugar and tangy sprucy pine. Medium bodied and a bit hot. Finishes more sweet than bitter, on that bitter - sweet scale, although not for lack of bitterness. In the end, the sweetness just overrides. Still quite bitter with a lot of length. This one has a lot of components, but is a bit of a muddled mess. 14.1
