COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This summertime seasonal beer is light straw in color and has a crisp, dry palate, light body and light malt sweetness. Low to medium hop floral aroma is present while hop bitterness is low. Fruity esters can be perceived, but the citrus flavors of lemongrass added to this brew predominate in this perfect beer to enjoy while watching your neighbor mow their grass.

Another year, another batch. Very cloudy pour, off yellow with thin lacing head. Nose is a soft combination of citric and floral hops with a pleasant level of diacetyl. Reminiscent of steam beer, this is a slightly bitter session that is great for warmer weather. In line with the cloudy body there was a more-than-expected amount of sediment in the bottom of the glass.

On tap @ Destihl. Slight chill haze to an otherwise pretty clear golden beer. Nice white head. Light grassiness on the nose. Also some aromas of lemon peel, bread, and cracker. There’s a nice light bitterness to the flavor as well as a restrained sweetness. Cracker, white bread, and a touch of grain bitterness. Light grassy hops. Very light citrus.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear light yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has grass and grain with a bit of lemon underlying. Flavor is similar with a bit of earthy grain, grass and lemon combining.

Growler… RBSG 2010… Clear golden ale with a small, fat-bubbled, white head. The aroma suggests pale malt, lemongrass and clove. Light to medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. Well-balanced flavor - a mild clove phenol and a banana ester are offered here. Crisp, lightly bitter finish.

[Tap] Pours a clear yellow color with a small amount of white head. Aroma of lemongrass and sweet grains. Taste is of light malts, lemon and light herbal notes. Slightly below average palate. Crisp hop finish. Not a whole lot to this beer, but nothing offensive.

TheAlum (5530) - Lisle, Illinois, USA - JUL 18, 2010
Sampled at the brewpub (Bloomington, IL). Pours a hazy straw yellow, lighter and well hazed with a frothy moderate brighter white head that laces well, dies to a decent layer. Aromas are tart lemons and grass, a light floral and grass hopping with decent bready and pale malts, a touch of grainy cereal malts moving into a faint sweetness. The beer itself is quite refreshing, lemon and citrus mix with bready malts and cereal grains, a touch of sweetness, lingering grassy earthiness. A light bitterness, but a decent flavorful sessioner for the summer. Clean yet flavorful, a light bitterness and well balanced. A very nice summer beer by the guys at Destihl.

Tap at the brewery. Only reason it gets a 1 is because it was nearly clear with a hint of green. Nose is distinct and clean, with some lemony notes. Taste is very light and clean, again with the herbal lemony teste due to the lemon grass that is used. Nice and clean, would be a great lawnmower beer. Nice.
