COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is made by adding several gallons of Curtis Orchard’s cider to a blonde ale base beer for a pleasant apple flavor, deep golden color, low hop bitterness and character, light body and light malt sweetness

Draft on tap at the brewpub (Champaign, IL). My first visit. Pours a faintly hazed straw hue, decent glow, lively carbonation with a small bright white head that dies to a small ring, laces small. Aromas are touches of apple, spice, and bread dough. Some gentle yeast, touches of cinnamon, mellow vanilla and honey. Initial is lighter bodied, offering crisp apples up front, dry bread, flaked wheat into the backend. Gentle honey, slight tartness, spice into the beer. Finish is mellow, a touch dry, more flaked wheat, gentle touches of cereal sweetness mesh with touches of sweeter apples, gentle spice. Interesting, a bit light and mellow. A nice fruit beer essentially.

Draft at the Champaign location. Pours a pale, slightly hazed deep gold with a nice offwhite head. Nose is really nice, juicy apple notes and some toasty malt, really inviting. On tasting, there is a light tartness and a distinct cidery note, strong apple character here with a nice fruity note and a backing malt backbone. Probably the best apple beer I’ve had and reinforces my opinion of Destihl’s fruit beers. Really great stuff.

Sampled at an esbls tasting. From Kennys growler. Lightly hazy golden with little head. Little nose is apples. The flavor is apples and malt. A bit of spice and yeast, too. This is very light fare but is nice. Plenty of sweetness.
