3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 bpreo (992) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - DEC 18, 2010
I think this is called a "flagship" beer. It is a safe bet, and pretty representative of what Destihl has to offer.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 rubbishystuff (1303) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 19, 2010
UPDATED: AUG 29, 2010 Had at Destihl. Doesn’t really set it self apart from mass produced pale lagers enough. Serving: Tap

on tap-pours a white head and straw color. Aroma is light malt with some sweetness, mild earthy hops. Taste is slight lemon zest, light malt with some sweetness, mild earthy hops.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 TheAlum (3299) - Lisle, Illinois, USA - MAY 29, 2010
On tap at the brewpub (Bloomington, IL). Pours a nice pale yellow, a touch of haze, lively carbonation, dies to a ring film. Aromas are a mellow graininess, a touch of corn husk, cereal grains, cheerios, bread. Initial is similar, light bodied drinker of corn, cheerios, bread, crackers, a touch of stinky graininess, faint hopping in the finish. Pretty clean, grainy. A simple quaffable lager, fresh is the key though. Not bad.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 TheEnemy (562) - Chicago, USA - MAR 6, 2010
On tap. Pours a slightly cloudy, very pale yellow with a bubbly head constantly fed by effervescent streams of carbonation. Aroma is grassy hops, fruity esthers, and light grains. Flavor follows the aroma, with modest intensity. Lively palate. A boring interpretation of a boring style that’s sure to keep the non-beer-snobs happy when dragged here by their beer-snob friends or family members.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 drowland (3900) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 14, 2009
Mild corny/grainy aroma and same flavor with a nice hop kick. Pretty solid, rather creamy.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 chicagodri (1655) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 7, 2008
The beer they brew for the Bud Light/Miller Lite crowd. Obviously this beer was fairly boring. Pours a pale yellow with a white head. Easy enough to drink, nothing special thought.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 NobleSquirrel (2677) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 29, 2008
UPDATED: JAN 24, 2011 At the brewpub. Pour is a fizzy pale yellow with minimal fluffy head. Nose is clean and a touch malty, not much hop character. Taste is a clean pale lager. Not much more, not too bad.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 heemer77 (4796) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - APR 19, 2008
On tap at the brewpub. The body is light yellow. The smell is light with a grainy grass aroma. The taste was Wheaties cereal with a fair amount of grassy hops in the dry brew. Good for the style.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jpm30 (1587) - East Central, Georgia, USA - APR 5, 2008
On-tap, served in a lager glass.
L: Clear straw lager golden with a frothy dull white head that slowly settled in a sudsy, bubbly ring, light amount of splotchy, dotty lace follows the body down the glass as I consumed it. A good looking start for this all-malt lager.
S: Toasted buttered french bread with hints of grassy grains, soft notes of spicy, floral hops at the edges. Simple, but effective nose.
F&T: The beer menu stated this has a medium body, but I found it more on the light side, crisp with a little airy creaminess. Pleasantly refreshing taste, made for easy and fast drinking. Like in the aroma, toasted french bread with a slab of honey butter and a nice fresh graininess on the back end. Finishes on the dry side with a palate cleansing grassy, spicy light hop bitterness that left me wanting more.
This is a highly drinkable all-malt lager, perfect for watching mid-spring baseball, quite thirst-quenching.
