3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 tmoreau (1625) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - SEP 18, 2012
On tap at the Normal, IL. location, and served to a 12 oz. tulip showing a clear, very colorful, ruby/copper color, a decent hat of off white foam, and spots & streaks of lacing. The nose was lightly toasted, some fruit, muted citrus, and a touch of caramel sweetness. Ditto on the flavor, with a low to moderate hop bitterness, good carbonation, medium body, and a dry, crisp finish.

On tap at DeStihl. Amber-brown body, oily beige head. Straightforward and well done. Toasty malt tones, balanced by some piny hops. Average brewpub stuff.

draft... cloudy copper, nice retentive light tan head... aroma is ok, a bit too soapy... ok, beer but my least favorite of their offerings

First time I had this beer was back in February or March of 2010. I ordered the sampler flight, and this was included. Going back to the Brew Works this afternoon.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jcwattsrugger (10000) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - AUG 8, 2010
on tap-pours a tan head that laces and cloudy orange/copper color. Aroma is medium malt-caramel, citrus. Taste is roasty medium malt, wood/grainy, some earthy hops. Drying finish.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 TheAlum (4289) - Lisle, Illinois, USA - MAY 29, 2010
On tap at the brewpub (Bloomington, IL). Pours a nice dark opaque muted copper, a frothy moderate offwhite head dies to a thicker film, laces very well. Aromas are a mellow caramel and toffee blanket, biscuits, light floral and grassy hopping, touch of citrusy grapefruit comes through. Initial is medium bodied, soapy hops mix with sweeter caramel and toffee, a touch of toasted grains, the florals and citrusy grapefruit come through fuller. A solid amber or red, balanced well and not overbearing on the palate goes down easy with florals and soapiness remaining, not letting the malty backbone take over. Quite nice for a style area that I usually skip over.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 TheEnemy (562) - Chicago, USA - MAR 5, 2010
On tap. Pours clear copper with foamy head that coats the inside of the glass with white lace. Aroma is a caramel-y, a little nutty, and moderately bitter from hops. Flavor is a little dry and grainy with some caramel malt. Medium palate with a dryish aftertaste. I’m accustomed to, and prefer, more fruity notes in a red ale. This one didn’t have much of that, and as such, wasn’t really my thing. Decent enough though.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 burica2020 (22) - Tinley Park, Illinois, USA - DEC 30, 2009
Amber/reddish color with a white head. Very hoppy with some carmel/toffee flavor. Nothing special.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 drowland (4998) - Jacksonville, Florida, USA - AUG 14, 2009
Rather hoppy with not as much caramel backing as I’d hope for. Go Redbirds, though, I suppose...
