COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Strawberry Blonde Ale is made using fresh strawberries added to secondary fermentation, providing obvious, yet harmonious, fruit qualities which are not overpowered by hop character. The beer is golden-strawberry blonde in color, and it has a crisp, dry palate, light body and light malt sweetness. Low hop floral aroma is present but does not dominate, and hop bitterness is low.

Sampled at Destihl. It poured a golden color with a white head. The aroma was of bready malts and a nice fresh strawberry. The taste was of biscuit malt and a small amount of strawberry. Decent.

The was from a sample on the way to Dark Lord Day 2013. Came in the glass a cloudy yellow withy a tinge of pink and a white head. Nose is malts s with a hint of strawberry. Light body. Flavor is light strawberry, and the berry flavors stay with you through the finish. Refreshing.

Sample at GABF 2012. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Nose is some sweet malt and some strawberry flesh with hints of grassy bitterness. Flavor follows with strawberry flesh and some sweet malt. Light in body and lingering berry in the finish. For berry beers, this one’s pretty cool.

Cloudy gold pour, white head. Aroma of strawberry jam, wheat, yeast. Flavor of strawberry, yeast, very light grassy hops. Nice beer, very well done for a fruit that is usually screwed up!

On tap at Milwaukee Brewfest. Poured cloudy medium golden with not a whole lot of head. The aroma picked up sweetened strawberries and wheaty notes over pale malt and more wheat.. solid. The flavor found tart strawberries on the front, with sweeter berries and pale malts not far behind.. some wheat tartness throughout.. finished sweet and strawberry silk pie-like (good as pie, but not what I wanted in my beer). Lighter-bodied with low-ish carbonation on the palate.. felt empty at times.. not greatly enjoyable or as refreshing as I wanted.

from a cool looking Russian river style growler. Grainy malt aroma mixed with fresh strawberries. Flavor is crisp and dry with lots of fresh tart strawberries and raspberries. Light body. Rather flat. Fruity and flavorful but not really my thing.

Draft at the Champaign location. Finally had a chance to try the base and it didn’t dissappoint. Pours a hazed pale gold with a sticky white head. The nose is toasty grain and then a huge strawberry quality. Really fresh and popping, like jam. On taste, the strawberries keep up their dominance and offer some nice light acidity and a Smuckers Strawberry jam note. Perfectly made strawberry beer, right up there with the best of them.

Cloudy orange pour with a touch of pink. Strawberries deliver on the nose with banana esters and a touch of cereal. Flavor is mostly bubblegum with a slightly oxidized mild citrus. quite dry and lack of expected sweetness. Likely just past its prime. Nose was great but lacked flavor.

on tap-pours a big tignt white head that laces and cloudy straw/pink color. Aroma is mild strawberry. Taste is tart/sour strawberry, light malt, some sweet peaks through at the finish. Better as it gets to cellar temperature. OK effervescence.

[Tap] Golden pour with a hint of pink and a large foamy white head. Aroma of berries and grains. Taste is of strawberry, tart grapes and light malts. Grainy astringency throughout. Fine champaign-like carbonation. The palate is pretty average. Some spice in the finish, but all of the flavoring in here is overshadowed by tart notes and somewhat watery body. Seems like it could use some more malt.
