3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
can @ The Andersons / Columbus OH --- Aroma of malt and citrus. Clear amber brown color, solid 1 finger beige head, big blobs of lace. Taste is semi-sweet caramel malt that adds light carbonation on the swallow, moving from there to solid bittering that is confident enough to allow malt to remain in the finish. A surprisingly well-rounded and complex IPA - too much malt at the end for hopheads, but for me, a nice balance.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 ounce can into tulip glass, bottled on 9/8/2015. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big apricot, mango, melon, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, honey, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate malt sweetness; with great strength. Taste of big apricot, mango, melon, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, honey, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of apricot, mango, melon, grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange peel, pine, honey, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Good amount of dryness from bitterness as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, sticky/resinous, and lightly creamy mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent IPA! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bright copper coloured body with a nice, dense tan head, about two centimetres tall. Aroma of pungent grassy and grapefruity hops with a large malt backbone and some alcohol noticeable. Medium-bodied; Strong malt profile at first with a nice and flavourful hop character of grass, flowers and grapefruit, all with a kick near the end from a good deal of alcohol. Aftertaste shows a nice balance, with more emphasis on the hops of course, but nothing great in it. Overall, a good and well-balanced IPA with a nice hop profile and subtle complexity, but nothing too impressive that are an immediate purchase. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Spec’s Liqour in Dallas, Texas on 01-September-2015 for US$3,09 sampled in the mountains of Shenendoah National Park on 19-September-2015.

This, one was,a basic nice ipa that had a bit of floral, pine, hay and a decent breast malt backbone. Did not really excite me though.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can. Hazy, honey colored pour, big frothy white head with exceptional retention and lacing. Nose is biscuity malt, mild tropical fruit (mango, passion fruit, grapefruit). Mouth is medium-full and dry, pleasantly bitter throughout, citrus and pine, some cracker lurking in the back, and some soapiness. A very nice little IPA. Sláinte!
