COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Flemish Amber is a highly attenuated, amber-copper colored sour ale that marries wild lactic sourness with a wonderful, earthy bouquet presented by a blend of farmhouse yeast strains. The earthy flavors are reminiscent of fresh tobacco and white peppercorn and combine with the high acidity and tartness to present a very developed, dry, sour ale.

At Fountainhead. Quite good really. Dry, fruit, sour, yeast, tart, all hit at different level at different parts of the sip and all fully enough to be interesting and mildly enough to be polite. Serving: Tap

On Draught.
Pours a light orange with a big head and some lacing on the glass.

The aroma is oaky & fruity with some tart lemony character, some light funkiness and just a touch of vinegar.

The flavor is lightly sweet up front, very earthy and very oaky with a dry finish. The beer is tart and pleasantly sour with a light touch of acetic balsamic like flavor.

Draft on tap. At the Production Facility (Bloomington, iL). Pours a nice deep copper hue, decent haziness, orange copper glow is quite striking, tannish head sits as a frothy layer, sits atop and laces well. Good stick around. Aromas are nice and tart, a bit fruity with farmhouse yeast, gentle spice and fruity esters. A bit earthy, spicy. Gentle toast, carmelized feel. Initial is a bit fruity and darker slanted, a bit toasty and carmelized and yeasty. A bit of tobacco, yeasty elements and fruit with some lactic elements, a bit tart, touches of cherry and citrus. Middle is more tart, a bit more lactic with cherry, gentle toasty malts and biscuits. Lemony and lactic, some gentle toastiness, touches of earth, tobacco, and tartness. Backend and finish show tartness, lingering fruit and a bit of toasty carmelized malt play. Overall, a bit more tame on the sour front than the others with an impressive farmhouse yeast spice and fruit play. A bit toasty and dry as we finish. Solid stuff.
