Pours dark brown with almost no head. Okay nose, some burnt aromas, dried fruit. Tasty in the mouth, chocolate, dried fruit and quite a lot of licorice. Good konsentration and a decent mouth feel. Tasty beer.

Bottle, deep brown no head, marmalade, treacle and pear drops on the nose, more burnt marmalade and caramel toffee in the mouth plus a drying edge of raw spirit and a faint note of sherry cask. Rich and warming.

Pours a clear and brown beer with a weak white head. The aroma is malt, caramel, alcohol and fruit. The flavor follows the nose with additional vanilla. The palate is sweetness with alcoholwarmth. Overall an average beer.

Odense Catching Up on Stuff Left in the Cellar Event July 2012. Hazy copper with a small off-white head. Aroma of dried fruit, some spice and plenty of alcohol. Sweet and alcoholic flavour with some dried fruit. Waste of barrel time apparently

# 3091 ersma: vom 14. 1. bis 2. 8. 2011 wurde das bier in einem whiskyfass von lochnangar aus dem jahr 1998 gelagert. das sind doch mal przise angaben. brigens in fass nr. 631. sehr dunkel rubinfarben mit wenig schaum, was bei 10 volt nicht verwundert. der geruch ist slich mit honignote. der antrunk ist slich, von fast cremiger textrur. aromen von karamell und reifer birne, aber auch ein wenig des slichen geschmacks, der whisky zu eigen ist. die mitte bringt hopfenherbe, die sen schwere baut sich weiter aus. der abgang ist slich, nur marginal spritig. neben karamell finden sich reife birne, beeren, honig. aromen vom eichenfass sind aber mehr erahn- als schmeckbar. die flasche ist wie immer gelungen: bei immer gleichem etikett wechselt von sorte zu sorte die farbe sowie die zeichnung, die in diesem fall ein klosterportal zeigt. schlicht und ansehnlich. fazit: ein schnes bier im stile der belgischen klosterbiere, so richtung tripel oder quadrupel. probierenswert. 11,12,11,12,12,12 - 11,75 - 4/7/12

33 cl bottle @ home. Pours reddish amber with a small off-white head that fades leaving a little lacing. Aroma is malt, fruits, and Belgian yeast. Taste is much like the aroma.

Clear medium to dark red amber colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, caramelized malt, moderate to heavy yeasty, belgium - candy yeast. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, yeasty, dried fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120218]

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is toasted malty and slight yeasty fruity. Sweet and dark malty flavoured. Bitter and dark malty. Dark malty and caramelish flavoured finish.
