Pours copper color with a small head. Aroma of caramel, malts, toffee, some ripe fruits and resin. Flavor of caramel malts, ripe fruits and some toffee, faint oak too. Very good.

Lovely barley wine aroma, one on the bitter hoppy side of the style rather than the malty side. Lovely vanilla twist - I placed this in Bourbon barrels it was so vanilla-ey. Very serious palate. One where every sip counts. Whilst it’s sweet, it has a really heady bitterness too, and there’s plenty of wood coming out. The finish is the simple continuation of the taste, but that’s lovely, as you can imagine. This is why I like barley wines.

Bottle @ home... It pours murky black with a small tan head.... The aroma is bourbon, wood, vanilla and a little sense of roasted malts.... The flavor creamy, wiskey, sweet vanilla, oak with a very nice finish as warming alcohol..... like this....

Small brown head. Nearly opaque black body goes deep dark red at edges. Roasty fruity alcoholic aroma with soy sauce and chocolate notes. Dry-sweet earthy wooden soy sauce taste with roasty alcoholic notes. Fullish body. Sharpish, slightly hot mouthfeel, kind of flat. Dryish wooden vinegary chocolate aftertaste with alcoholic fruity spicy notes. It’s OK, but musty and low on flavour. (0.25l bottle, from Kihoskh, Copenhagen.)

Mörk, nästan svart med "gulvit" skumkrona. Smak av sherry och lite alkohol skiner igenom. Det är väl så här en barley ska smaka men personligen saknar jag beskan för att tycka att det är en god ÖL!!

Sampled at SBWF11 Deep amber. Smoked wooden aroma with notes af ashes. Leather, smoke and peat in the flavour. Pretty stale mouthfeel.

Bottle. Black body, tiny brown head. Aroma of caramel, plums, oak, blackcurrant. Taste of roasted malt, caramel, vanilla, raisins, whisky hints. Quite nice. Warm lasting aftertaste of whisky and roast.

Little 25cl bottle pours mahogany with ruby red edges and tan head. The aroma has some spicy wood notes, light amounts of vanilla, a bit of whiskey and a sense of roasted malts. The taste is a little prickly due to the level of carbonation. It delivers similar notes as the nose, yum, like a sense of spicy oak wood, a thin ribbon of sweet vanilla as well as a smooth mix of sweet rich whiskey, sweet malts and a touch of roasted malts right at the finish. Nice one.

A black colored beer, with a beige head. The aroma of dark fruits, roasted malt, with alcohol, whisky and wood notes. The taste of bitter roasted malt, dark fruits, notes of wood and whisky. The aftertaste is bitter, notes of chocolate and a little sweet.

Dark brown color, light brown head. Aroma of whiskey, bourbon, brulee sugar top, oak. Nice whiskey flavor up front, caramel malts, some roasted malt, this beer leans towards a sweeter porter type beer. Good.
