Barley wine veramente spettacolare.

19 jan 2016 BB. Aroma from the bottle, unpoured : Toffee, vanilla, slight wood, sugar. From the glass : slightly sticky, viscose, slight booze, licorice, butterscotch, dark melasse, cane sugar, raisins, dates. A fizzy-short-visiting foamhead. Flat but medium-bodied barley wine... gently matured with a cane sugary melasse aftertaste. A spectacle of pungent but mild flavors.

250ml bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki) (sip)
Lovely barley wine aroma, one on the bitter hoppy side of the style rather than the malty side. Lovely vanilla twist - I placed this in Bourbon barrels it was so vanilla-ey. Very serious palate. One where every sip counts. Whilst it’s sweet, it has a really heady bitterness too, and there’s plenty of wood coming out. The finish is the simple continuation of the taste, but that’s lovely, as you can imagine. This is why I like barley wines.
