Very good, even, dark-beige head over darkbrown beer with reddish highlights. Alcohol, rum, Bourbon, wood, dark fruit as plums, vanilla. Woody flavours, backed up by aged alcohol & vanilla touches. Wry fruit, fusels, complex. Less well-bodied than expected; alcoholburning, but discreet. Certainly a good, reasonably complex beer, but somewhere, one feels entitled to expect just a tad more for this kind.

_angst_ (999) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - OCT 4, 2011
Sampled @ SBWF on September 29. Pours amber with no head. Very viscous. Smell is sweet and malty with a smoked feel to it. Reminds me of the smell of an Islay Whisky. Taste is very sweet and sticky with honey, oak, peat and some smoke. Aftertaste is rather dry and pleasant. Very intense and nice but perhaps a bit too sweet.

Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival 2011. Hazy amber beer. Oaky aroma, sweet, smoked. Oak flavor, malty, fruity, but too sweet and sticky to be a top class beer.

Dark brown and clear. Has an off-white head, fully diminishing. Aroma of oak, a bit crisp, sweet, sugar, caramel. Heavy sweet flavor, moderate bitter finish. Syrupy texture and soft carbonation. A bit boring.

(Bottle, 0.25 l, at Pikkulintu) The beer poured really deep dark brown and almost clear. Its head was minusculous and it had light brown shading. Aroma had vanilla, mildly roastedness and noticeable amount of alcohol. Palate was full bodied and dry with low carbonation. Flavours were vanilla, roastedness, vineousness, mildly ash and low carbonation. Aftertaste was vineous. The barrel aging was clearly present in this beer but it was not disturbing. I found it actually quite pleasant - especially the aroma.
