Bottle from Meny, Vika. Pours murky light golden with a small white head.Aroma of sour berries, think this is off.Taste makes it clear that this is not as intended by the brewer.Sour and acidic.

Bottle from Meny at Oslo City. Light dark golden colour with a small white head. Light fruity nose. Light fruity and moderate sweet malty. Nice and fresh pils.

Flaske 0,33l spandert av og delt med Rune under rateseanse hjemme hos ham 13 Okt 11. Lys gylden med et høyt kremaktig skum som varer. Uklar. Svakt syrlig aroma med innslag av gress. Smaken syrlig. Lite annet. Tørr ettersmak. Veldig pen etikett. Etterlater tvil om syrligheten er planlagt eller om det er infisert. I alle fall ikke noe stort øl. KI=3 (Centra, Majorstua, Oslo).

16.10.2011. Birkebeiner pils. Meny Vika, Oslo. Det lille bryggeri. BB jan. 12. 0,33l Bottle. Sour infected aroma. This is not good. Colour is yellow with white head. A little hazy.

An unfiltered beer, 330ml bottle from Centra Colosseum in Oslo. Pale yellow-gold content with a slight haze. White lager head with slow recession. Smell of dry citric fruits. Sweet fruity taste including wheat, grass and a touch of mild honey. Tart ending. Flat in the mouth. To share one bottle with Finn was enough for me (Tromsø, 13.10.2011).

Bottle from Meny Vika, Oslo. Hazy nougat-hued orange body, small white head. Nose is sour vinegar and sulfurous undertones. A pilsener? Then this is clearly infected. Not sure if I wanna taste it, but here goes: Slightly sour yeasty tones up front, then rotten eggs, vinegar, sulfur and buttery hints towards the end. Yuch. Two sips to identify the badness, then off to the sink ye go Mr. Birkebeinerpilsen. Too bad for this newly resurrected brewery; they need all the rep they can get right now and beers like this are not gonna get it.

Bottle at home
Golden, big white head. Smells of spice, grass and malts. Nice fresh body, not much sweetness. Nice dry feel. Nice grassy bitter finish. Thinks of new cutted grass in the spring. I like it

A bit of fruitiness both in taste and aroma. Colour is golden, pours a small head. I thought this was a decent pilsener, but nothing special. (33 cl bottle)

Bottle, at Amundsen Bryggeri & Spiseri. It’s and almost clear one, almost golden and with a finger-thick white head on top. The aroma has citrus, flower notes and grass notes as well as some pale malts. It’s quite fruity in the mouth, with pale malts as a backdrop and a decent bitterness. Nice bitterness in the finish. Medium body, dry, silky and a bit watery. Somehow this reminds me of a more fruity edition of the average Scandinavian pilsner, but of course quite a lot better. Surely on of the best Norwegian pilsners. 110823

Bottle from MENY Vika. Hazy gold, noe had, low carbonation. Some fruitiness and malt, but this was off. Butterscotch, Mouldy peaches. Uch.
