Bottled. Pours deep brown with an average, lacing tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, licorice, coffee and chocolate. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and with some alcohol bite. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carb. A very nice Impy.

Flaska från SB. Kolsvart, inget skum.

Bottle (33 cl) from Systembolaget. Black with beige head. Sugary and roasted chocolate aroma with strong notes of salmiak and tar. Full bodied, medium carbonation. Sweet with salty bitterness and some metallic notes.

Bottle at home, thanks to an IP trade with Ronny (rlgk), 02/11/13. Pitch black with a dirty tan head that dissipates to a pond. Nose is dark toffee fudge, roast malts, brown sugars, quite a sweet smelling nose. Taste comprises dark chocolate, light mineral bite, molases, brown sugars, roast malt, toffee fudge, Xmas cake, dark fruit tang, liqourice notes. Full bodied, fine carbonation, sweet finale. Decent impy, the alcohol is well integrated for 13.7% and the sugar/sweetness level doesn’t take too much of a hold.

Svart öl med mycket litet, men mycket mörk brunt skum. Doft: Lakrits, torkad frukt, marmeladigt bränt socker, alkohol, kakao. Smak: Samma som doft + havre kakor, rund humle smak, kola, kaffe, tiramisu. Jäkligt god.

330 ml bottle. Pitch black with mocca head. Aroma of smooth coffee, roasted, malt and some astringent notes. Taste is intense, lots of roasted malt, coffee, alcohol, dark chocolate which leads to increasing astringency. Finish is a bit faint but lingering. Very nice

First at GBWF 2013, then bottle from SB. Festival: Black, creamy cappuccino head. Awesome aroma with creamy chocolate, licorice, roast. Taste: chocolate mousse with cream, licorice, roasted, red berries, toffee wine gums. Bottle: Black with a brown head. Aroma: licorice, hard roast, ashes, chocolate sauce. Taste: chocolate, cocoa, wool, toffee, roasted, ashes, salt, coffee. Full bodied. Man, this was so damn good at the festival, and now I don’t get the same thing. Different batches? Bottle gets something like 7-8/4/7/4/15=3.7-3.8. But I prefer to remember it as it was on the festival, hence the rating.
