Bottle. High creamy lasting brown head. Black body. Roasted malt smoke aroma and flavor. Relatively bitter with a nice long finish. Alcohol level seems just right.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 faroeviking (10300) - FAROE ISLANDS - MAY 14, 2013
Botella bought at Fish & Beer. Quite lively as it’s opened, first thought: infected.... and yes it is.. Deep dark brown colour, fizzy light brown head, short lasting. Sweet roasty maltiness with chocolate and sour / acid. Lively mouthfeel, not to be like that for sure... Roasted malt in the flavour, acid, sweet, chocolate caramel, sour, ... baaad brew!
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Defreni (2045) - Husum, DENMARK - MAY 10, 2013
Flaske: Sort klar øl med et stort karboneret skumhoved. Tydeligt det lille bryggeri, meget over i engelsk stil med en smule lakrids. Mundfylden er meget karboneret med prikkende bobler. Smagen er fin men ikke overvældende.

Bottled. A black beer with a huge dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, smoke, and chocolate, leading to a dry roasted finish.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 jesperhammer (2221) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 17, 2013
16-MAR-2013, bottle @home, shared with Morten, from Fish & Beer.
Dark, dark brown with low light brown head.
Aroma is malt, roast, and smoke. Actually very smokey. I did not expect that. Also some hoppy grape fruit notes.
Taste is very malty as well. It is hoppy bitter but 90 IBU...? Really? Emphasis is really on the smoke here but the hops kicks in more and more as it warms.
It is highly carbonated. Perhaps even overcarbonated but the high carbonation and the high hop levels makes it fresher.
Finish is bitter from hops and malts.
Really a nice stout. Not a monster but a very enjoyable stout:-)
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Papsoe (25131) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 19, 2013
Bottle 50 cl. Pours a deep and opaque black with a huge - if dissipating - light brown head - quite a looker. Nose has a chocolatey roast but also a distinctly smoky edge. The body is rich and powerful, some dark dried fruit and brown sugars with loads of molasses and a hint of phenols. The ash character is a little off-putting, but otherwise it’s a delicious and potent Stout with a warming alcohol kick. The bitterness doesn’t appear that high - or it’s simply well masked. Enjoyable. 190213
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 BrianWillum (126) - København S., DENMARK - FEB 18, 2013
Bottle at Fish n’ Beer: Nice aroma of the many hops used, almost fruity. Beer is dark, but not black with a creamy light brown head that stays quite long. Taste is great with many flavours captured in the essence of the smokey malt. Aftertaste is good and round, but a little too bitter.
