Cloudy dark brown beer. Big fluffy pale tan head. Palate is crisp and semi dry. Typical brown malts. Trace of caramel. Mild lactose and super mild roast. Dragging this out of Dullsville is mild piney hops. Fairly dry finish.

Sampled from bottle thanks to Joes. Opaque brown color with a dense off-white head that leaves good lacing. Smell malts, a hint of smoke and a hint of hops. Taste malts, some hops in the background and also a slight hint of smoke. Lively, a bit fizzy carbonation, low to medium body.

Bottle (SBWF2012)
Rich roasty caramel aroma, lots of fruity esters. Sweet, some freezer ice in the retronasals. Great bitterness. Very dry - woody and nutty. Finish very bitter, good noble hop bitterness. Maybe some chalky minerals crop up later, which takes some of the pleasure out of the drink.

10-SEP-2012, bottle @home, from Barleywine. Gusher...! Huge tan head on murky light brown body. Very hoppy nose with grape fruit and pine. Also roast, coffee, and caramel. Taste the same. Very hoppy and fresh for a brown ale. Not a fan of brown ales but this is very fine.
