Bottle @ Bruce’s. MASSIVE GUSHER. We lost >90% of the bottle. You’ve been warned. The pour’s deep brown with a tiny head. The nose is chili-spiked chocolate, roast grain, syrup. Earthy compost. The taste is burnt brownies, chocolate, roast grain. Medium body, active carbonation. Overall, OK.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Scopey (3380) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 10, 2013
Bottle at Bruce’s. This b@st#rd gushed all over me! The tiny amount left poured murky opaque brown. The nose is tangy, vegetal, green chilli and malt vinegar. The taste is caramel, roasted malt, chilli, increasing spice, chocolate, vanilla and curry notes with a dry, lightly spicy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Tastes not bad actually, but score reduced due to the cost of my dry-cleaning bill.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 madmitch76 (10007) - , Essex, ENGLAND - MAY 29, 2013
21st May 2013 ’Paul takes a brown shower’ tasting at Bruce’s pad. Explosive beer that covered Paul in brown sticky beer! What little that wasleft was opaque dark brown with a little pale tan head. Smooth dark malts, rich. Bitter chocolate. Touch of paper. A little chilli heat. Dry finish. Not bad - but points lost for the dreadful mess it made!

Very subtle chili spice in the finish, dark chocolate, modest roast, dry cocoa. Good beer.

330ml bottle bought at Barley Wine, Copenhagen. Opaque coal black body, naked surface, poor lacing. Profound impact of dark roasted malts joined by vapour of alcohol. Roasted malty taste with hints of vanilla, coffee, leather and dark chocolate followed by a chili punch to the ending. Warming alcohol. Good slow sipper, rather heavy to drink though (at home, Tromsø 11.05.2013).

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 15/20 DutchDrebus (2371) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - NOV 29, 2012
Bottle @ Joes. Pitch black colour with a brown head (very small though). Smells coffee, roasty, dark chocolate, sweet. Tastes roasty, coffee, dark chocolate and the dark chocolate bitterness, ash, peppery (but not too much) and earthy. Full body, nice carbo, but it could be a little bit thicker/silkier. The peppery feel in the back of the throat ruins it for me.
