3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 daje (1291) - NORWAY - MAR 26, 2013
Bottle from Kihoskh, february 16th 2013. Dark brown body, red tint, big foamy brown head. Aroma of licorice, roasted malt, citrus fruits. Taste is roasty with licorice and a light chili presence, which as usual grows down the glass. Being a sucker for chili in beers I like the way it’s presented here. Lifting the bitterness is a light apricot taste, which also helps balance the spiciness. Aftertaste is licorice and roast, leaving a mild hot chili taste. Good stuff!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 thewolf (9888) - Kolding, DENMARK - JUL 22, 2012
Bottle, bought @ BarleyWine, Cph.
Pours deep red to dark brown with a small, frothy and light fizzy beige head. Aroma has clear liqourice, mild roasted malts, a touch of biting chili. A mild buttery note. Highish carbonation, fine dryish and fat mouthfeel. Flavour has lots of liqourice (really a lot!), chili is mild and more herbal than biting. Mildly roasted, but this is really about the liqourice.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 visionthing (1667) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 28, 2012
Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Pours slightly hazy dark brown with a reddish hue and a light brown head. Aroma of licorice, malt, caramel and fruits. Sweet and malty with a solid licorice flavor and a nice, mild chili bite. Some roasty notes. Just a little bit too sweet for me, but the chili bite is very nice. Some bitterness in the finish and a nice mild chili afterburn...
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 OleR (4247) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 23, 2012
0.33 L bottle, picked up @Vinmonopolet, Vika, Oslo. A finger of dense and creamy lightly tanned head, covering a translucent red-shaded brown colored body. Clean sweet-scented malt aroma featuring mild peppers, toasted malts, some fine fruit tones, and a faint licorice root. Well-bodied and smooth in the mouth. The chili added is just about the right amount, and actually tasteable. Not only a burning sensation, like most of the chili beers I’ve had. The chili blends well in with a soft and clean, light caramelly malt body. Faint licorice, hint of ash. Nice lingering chili warmth in the ending. A rock solid and well balanced spiced beer.
