Bottle. Black coloured. LIght brown head. Liqoiurce, roast, coffee in the aroma. Flavour of roast, liqourice, herbs, chocolate, Medium to full bodied. Roasty bitter end, with an initial mild chilibite, which builds up and actually merry and unite with the liqouirce/chocolate very well. Nice chili beer.

Dark brown and unclear. Has an off-white head, medium duration. Clear notes of soft, sweet laqurice and malt. Flavor is sweet malty, soft laqurice again. Moderate bitter finish, faint warming chili. A bit watery for so many flavors/aromas.

Nightfall (1263) - Hamburg, GERMANY - DEC 6, 2011
Draught @ Olfestival 2011 Kobenhavn. Very dark brown almost black with virtually no head. Aroma of coffee, licorice and chilli. Roasted malty taste with LOTS of licorice (which I found a bit disturbing, but then again I am not the bigget licorice fan), at the beginning you don’t feel the chilli at all, just as it goes down the throat you get that distinctive chilli kick. Interesting brew for sure but def. not my thing.

Bottle, at Ølfestival 2011. A black one, topped by a minimal sized light beige head. Roasted malts, licorice, some chocolate, and hints, just hints, of chili. More like you sense there will be some in the flavor but not being really sure. Anyway, it’s a nice aroma, and the flavor is even better, with licorice, a light roasted touch and then the chili steps forward in just the right amount. It’s full-bodied and sweet on the palate, with a little chili burn, just like the chili needs to remind you it’s there. A rather lovely beer that I would like much more of. 110527

thewolf (8638) - Kolding, DENMARK - SEP 30, 2011
Bottle, bought @ Barley Wine, Cph.
Dark brown, almost black with a medium, fizzy, beige head. Aroma has clear liqourice, some sweet chocolate, a mild herbal chili note. Low carbonation, fine dry and light creamy palate. Flavour has lots of chili in the front, sweet mild roasted malts, lots of English liqourice. A fine hotness to the finish. Good dryness as well. Almost feels like a liquid chili liqourice. Nice.
