Pours almost black with a small creamy brown head, poor retention. Aroma of vegemite, yeast, boiled candy and green hops. Full body with a smooth, slightly warming feel to it. Flavours of charred wood, vegemite, coffee, syrup and some green spicy hops. The finish is medium long, bitter and warming. Pretty solid.

Bottle. Dark brown with ok brownish head. Aroma is sweet , malty, caramel, tobacco, a little fruity (like 50% of the U.S. raters (insert smiley here)), candy sugar with notes of licorice. Also some hoppy notes reminding me of meadows (Ahh...childhood, where have ye gone?). A little metal... Flavour is malty and sweet with dark fruits coming in along with a sour touch and a slightly bitter finish. Is there a little smoke or is just the cigaret, I had walking home from Ølbar, before this beer? I know that somewhere I most have notes on the draught version of this from Fynske Øldage 2005, and I remember being more impressed at the time. Maybe some of the other beers had just gotten to me...

Sampled from draught at Fynske Øldage 2005.
An unclear dark brown beer with a small geryish head. Aroma is malty and spicy with liquorice notes and brown sugar - nice balance. Flavor is pretty full sweet and sugary. Has a candied touch and some fruity and spicy notes. Good drinkability.
