Dark red-brown colored with huge light brown head. Spicy and yeasty aroma with dominating hops, flowery amd licoricy notes also present. Interesting aroma with Yankee tones and licorice. Medium bodied. Flavor is more caramelly and flowery with fine hops. Dries with strong American hops and flowers, excellent aftertaste. Slightly unbalanced with strong aftertaste, still excellent beer.

Huge light-beige head over very deep-dark ruby beer; some UFO’s end of bottle. Sweet & earthy aromas, liquorice, roasted malts. Again roasted & earthy, peanuts, mild spicy-bitterish malts. Point of saltiness; faintly nutt retronasal. Medium bodied; bit light finish, faint dreamy texture. Light, but pleasing mork öl, less sweet than the nose suggested. Wasn’t the goal an Abbey dubbel?

500 ml bottle @ Gastropub Nordic. BBE 19.9.2011. 7,2% abv.
Pours a dark brown, almost black colour with a foamy, natural white head. Aroma of sweet dark berries and syrup. Flavour of salty licorice, chocolate and sweet decent malts. Belgian yeast is definitely there. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and decent carbonation. Easy to drink. I wouldn’t have guessed this was a Belgian Ale.
